Actually, it's a stick shift model. That means people are used to having one hand on the wheel, while their other hand is on the stick.

I personally find it a lot easier to drive with one hand in most situations. My body is a lot less tense and I have a wider range of movement. I only instinctually drive with two hands when I really want to limit my movement.
