For example, Daniel Wu from San Francisco became hot and a big movie star but he started modeling in Asia first, then he was noticed by the Taiwanese famous movie director, the rest is history. Besides, Kris said many times in interviews (a lot in Chinese) that he is grateful he had the opportunity to get trained in Korea, and he won't be the Kris today without any of his life experiences including China, Canada and Korea. Just because he was working in Korea, that doesn't mean he deserves abuses from SM. If you are human and don't want that yourself, why should he? It truly makes me happy that Kris can talk openly and freely about EXO as it was a huge part of his career and where he started but at the same time the way the interviewer ask questions were just extremely unprofessional and rude. I understand that things with his family and his previous experience in Korea is something he can't denied but then interviewer just had to ask in such a rude manner like he was constantly trying to challenge what Kris was saying. But eventually his health deteriorated so much that he had to stop working at that time. That's why in the last Show Time episode, Suho asked him to go into winter ocean water as team -M leader, and Kris immediately responded like "what team leader?". For his birthday, SM had everybody else's to be celebrated with fanfare but his. If I remember clearly, Lu Han begged not to let Kris go in 2013. I'm a music fan, I didn't know EXO till Spring of 2017 (after subsiding my 10-year interest in Western opera), and I was very puzzled and curious why he had left at the height of the group's popularity. That just doesn't make sense to a regular person like you and me, right?! So I searched online intensely and extensively, both in English and Chinese... What I found and read were actually very heart-breaking! They should not and must not treat young artists including him that bad! Damn SM! I wish I had copied and pasted to keep all files together. At the time, one was just reading and reading. You didn't realize the more you read, the more you want to dig in to pursue an answer! There are other abuses too, according to what I READ: One story was at one promotional variety show in China, Kris had a bad stomach and had to run to the restroom frequently. The SM manager scolded him hard and loud in the hallway in front of the public.... In the stmt by his agency in July 2016, they said sometimes he had to work with an IV due to his heart conditions. At one time he literally passed out after a rehearsal and had to be carried away by two staffers...I don't think his lawsuit contents have been made public, there must be a lot of evidence of human rights violations there. Otherwise, do you think the almighty SM would arbitrate and settle the lawsuit with a 24-year-old young trainee? Who is he? They can easily crash a little guy for sure. Of course Kris can not say anything of details now coz he is still technically under contract with SM, per the settlement.

Now we really have the answer by himself why he left the company: 1. Schedules was super intense. 2. No freedom to do the type of music that he want. He should've told that to the boys 4 years ago. They would understand and help him to solve the problem. Well, what's done is done. I'm glad he did it because SM still sucks anyway. But good point after he left SM is the system there changed a lot. SM created SM-Station to give their artists a chance to show their individual talent but it still doesn't have any major impact to the artist, except for Baekhyun. All his station songs became a hit songs in korea. Lay got his own studio in china, solo album & career up into US and he is still an exo member. Chanyeol found his way to create his own songs by saving them on SoundCloud and sent his songs to SM under his other name Loey. Other members got their own tv dramas, movies, theater, went to the college, went to the gym and sometimes they are just some jobless kids. They even created a group called NCT where they can come and left anytime. (Or at least that's what i've heard. I'm not sure). The schedules are not that intense anymore. Thanks Kris! The point is communication and being patient at its best. Anyway, thank you for the interview! It is always a pleasure to know Kris. Thanks EXO! If it wasn't because of exo, we would never know him. Both Kris and Exo will release their album on November 2nd. Lay will perform on NYC on that day too. Damn, are we even still one?
