If you want to put some configuration values about your project then you can put all the configurable values in the app.config file then we can read when you need those values. app.config file contains key value pairs and key should be unique and value might be duplicate. If you have duplicate keys then it will get the value from the last key. And to read app.config file we need to System.Configuration namespace in your program and then need to use ConfigurationManager.AppSettings to read the value from the app.config file using key.

hii sir in visualstudio u are saying right click on references---add references--check on system.configuration checkbox.... we are importing base class library called system.configuration then why it is necessary to check the system.configuration checkbox ?? pls clarify my doubt???
