why is it important to put variables in quotation?

+Damjan Djordjevic It not so much a variable thing, just good habit to put all you strings into quotations. Trust me when I say that if you don't, you will have problems at some point. Simple example: name1=Tom name2=Bob echo It will be down to $name1 & $name2 echo "It will be down to $name1 & $name2" Without quotes you will have some problems. I actually did a video on the echo command that went over some more basic examples of this, but it seems that I uploaded the wrong video for today. I'm looking now to see if I can find the correct video and upload it.
