If you forget to leave happy home paradise and keep you’re game on while you sleep when you open that game again it has a text on the loading screen saying something along the lines of ‘it’s a brand new day’ and Niko notices you hadn’t made it home! It’s not very big but it’s cute.

Recently Felicity invited me to her house, and while I was there, she talked about how she likes to read Fauna Magazine and Ms. Nintendique. At first I was thinking these were just references to the villager, Fauna, and Nintendo, but then I found out on Animal Crossing Wiki that these are callbacks to previous games. Fauna Magazine was a fashion magazine Tom Nook talked about in the first game when he tried to sell you clothes (also it would occasionally be mentioned by various villagers), and Ms. Nintendique was a magazine talked about by all the female villagers in Wild World. This makes me wonder how many other little callbacks to previous games can be found through new dialogue in the update (outside the obvious ones by NPCs invited to The Roost.)

Also, if you play HHP in December, after the 16th, lottie keeps a tiny Christmas tree behind her desk to mark the holiday. If you scan in digby, he brings isabelle. Scan in lottie, she brings the HHP crew. Scan in lyle, he brings the HHD crew. Scan in nook, he brings the twins.

It took me a while to realise this, but it's a small detail I love. During the day, Kapp'n has his sunglasses on while he's chilling on his boat. He takes them off once it gets dark and puts them in his top pocket.

So here’s something I JUST found out. So jock villagers fall asleep at 12:30AM & if you employ a jock villager at your restaurant in HHP & you go visit them past their bedtime, they will be SLEEPING in the restaurant 😭 & no matter how many times I tried talking to them they wouldn’t wake up! I love it

A small detail i found: If you dont save and leave the game in the hhp island and go to a new day, you actually spawn there and get a special message (i dont remember exactly how it goes) taht says something about making the day And niko greets you pointing out that you fell asleep on the island

This isn't new to 2.0, but I've noticed something cool thanks to having insomnia - occasionally, villagers will be awake outside of their usual times. One night I couldn't fall asleep; Keaton was awake and walking around even though it was past the normal time for smugs to have gone to bed. He said something about not being able to sleep. More recently, early in the morning, I again woke up & couldn't fall back asleep; I started playing ACNH and Sherb was awake earlier than lazies typically are and made a comment about it (something like "my tummy woke me up earlier than normal today!"). I'm not sure if this happened in previous AC games but I love that it's a part of ACNH - it's nice that sometimes when it's late at night or early in the morning and I can't sleep, I'll occasionally find villagers in the same boat and can talk with them a bit.

I was watching your old videos and noticed that in one of them you got stung by wasps a few times. If you stand with your net in front of the trees instead of to the side of them when you shake them you don't have to move at all when the wasps come falling down your character will automatically turn towards them and you just have to hit A and you will catch them every single time.

OK, I never played an Animal Crossing game before New Horizons, but I am old enough to have played from the very beginning. There is something about the nostalgia element which is just SO SWEET, and the comment "It makes it feel like the characters are getting older just like us" made me want to cry. Nintendo has specialized in games intended for children, but they're doing an amazing job making them (and remaking them) for the child inside their adult fans as well

If curious, the reasons mostly revolved around it being a game that functions in real time. I was traumatized by Tamagotchi and other virtual pets into being terrified of games that want me to interact with them at random times throughout the night and day. My bestie finally reassured me that ACNH doesn't do that, and in this version characters don't just leave if you can't play for days (or weeks or months) at a time, as I sometimes can't.

In IRL the Venus flower basket is actually a home for the shrimp when the eggs get laid in the Venus this is a symbiotic relationship as the basket keeps the shrimp safe and fed (with algae) and the shrimp keeps the basket clean the shrimp never escapes and usually dies inside the basket this feeds the basket. The basket cannot eat the shrimp it it too big

if u leave a lost item in your inventory for a while it'll become a drop able item; If you go ahead and sell it to timmy and tommy they will decline in a funny dialogue and ask wether you want to dispose of it
