Anthony Uly I own Clouds of Sils Maria on DVD. Hell I 've watched it 20 times and counting mainly for K Stew and Chloe Grace Moretz. Binoche, I am not a fan of in any sense of the word. Binoche was only "great" and "lovely" and "womanly" because she's a Middle Aged woman running around exposing her cleavage for 30 minutes of the whole fucking movie. I wasn't able to talk to anyone about it for over a year. I got so depressed and no one understood what was wrong. Half my friends didn't even notice anything was wrong because they were so wrapped up in their own lives or didn't bother to ask what was wrong even though it was obvious they could tell something was up with me...At the time I was okay with it because I didn't want to talk about it or lie to anyone by saying everything was fine when clearly I was a wreck. Kristen Stewart, I believe, fits almost perfectly into the Projector class. She does not do much in terms of emotional range. But what she does, she does consistently well when in the right character and story that take full advantage of her particularity. I haven't seen Speak. I read the book when I was 12 and it scared the shit out of me (rape scenes and self harm and all) but I can imagine Kristin was perfect in that role.

Maddie Siegmund You should check it out either on TV (if it comes on) or on the internet. The rape scene is a bit brutal, but not much is actually shown. It's not as bad as similar scenes in the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo or Last House on the Left remakes. If you can get through that part, the rest is visually tame enough. I like Stewart in this role because her particular style in this instance almost perfectly portrays the emotional internalization and hidden pain of young sexual assault victims who struggle to open up about their experience. She takes an already well written story and makes it more believable. Not that her personality in reality is anything like that of a rape victim, I don't mean it like that. She simply acts the part well. While I do acknowledge that Stewart has definitely had a rough track record, I wouldn't write her off and say *"SHE JUST SUCKS, PERIOD!"* I don't subscribe to such an extremist attitude when practicing critical thinking in judgment of any actor.

It's just a thing that young females in Hollywood are expected to smile and be happy all the time. Men aren't expected to be bubbly and smile all the time. But the reality is you can be happy without smiling. Just like you can think something is funny but not actually laugh out loud. I really have grown to love Kristen Stewart. Not every role has been a winner but I've always seen her as very genuine person intune with herself. In all her awkwardness. She's not gonna just do what is expected of her. And I am VERY glad she has been able to bounce back after all that stuff with her and the director of Snow White and the Huntsman.
