Honestly a lot of bread actually does get more flavorful when warm. I can personally say that the pretzel bagels are amazing when warm (and much weirder when cold).

it's mostly due to texture. When warm they're softer and become fluffier. For things like the breadsticks, heating garlic does actually bring out the flavor quite a lot, and heating the cheese would melt it giving it a gooey texture. Pretzel dough when cold can become hard but warmed up become very soft. That's why we have soft pretzels and hard pretzels.. and they're entirely different flavor profiles. You can tell they had a bad day because they didn't really give anything a fighting chance. The mood for this video was mostly: "Well we got the bread.. let's make the stupid video.." at least that's how it felt to me.

Gotta say that the Garlic and Cheese Breadsticks are better toasted with a little butter on top. Good for getting that last bit of pasta sauce on the plate.

Yeah heating garlic brings out the flavor. Heating the cheese melts it. Adding a *little* butter can help with the browning when toasting and adding slight flavor as well. The main issue with garlic on store-bought foods is they need to be sure it's not overpowering for most people. There's definitely people, like me, who enjoys *a lot* of garlic, but there's many that don't enjoy it. I gladly add a little garlic powder or even infuse butter with garlic and use that on those to give it the garlic flavor I personally want.

We have a thing where we warm garlic naans in the toaster then add butter over them so it melts. Oddly enough it's become an across the day snack. We can never be bothered to heat them up under the grill or oven so toaster works 😂

I've had the focaccia. It says to cook in the oven at 400 for 10 to 12 minutes. That might have helped with the flavor and texture.

Heating things up does increase the flavor. It increases the release of flavonoids so you can taste it more. When things are cold it takes more seasoning to be able to taste it. This is why ice cream typically has such a high salt content.

Love this! I've honestly tried a ton of those breads too, and bread is just not Trader Joe's strongest area! I think you should go to a really legit bagel store and order one of every flavor, and then you can do a follow up video that's comparing a bunch of excellent bagel flavors to each other -- that would be a good balance to this lackluster bread :-)
