Kristin Chenoweth singing duet "For Good" with 9 year old girl Brooke Besikof

Singing with Kristin Chenoweth was a dream come true for 9 year old Brooke Besikof. She got the opportunity to realize the dream to sing a duet with Kristin Chenoweth (who originated the role of Glinda on Broadway) on stage at Segerstrom Hall in Orange County, CA in front of thousands to a standing ovation. They sang " For Good " from the Broadway musical Wicked . Brooke has enjoyed performing in theater productions since she was five and would love to perform on Broadway one day. Sorry but I have to disagree with the "kids seem more talented" part of your comment. The majority of kids now either have a controller, tablet, or phone in their hands nowadays so even if they were talented everyone doesn't have a clue because all they want to do is game or text. It's a battle to get a lot of kids now to read a book let alone any type of extracurricular activities.

Jack Filmer That comment about the Harry Potter series made me deadpan and make me wonder how old are you? Because the J. K. Rowling was still writing those books when I was a kid with the last one coming out in 2007 when I was 14. *My* generation I consider alright and sure, younger generations have their gems but while I was still growing up I could see what was starting to happen. When I was a kid I was in all kinds of things. Band, chorus, sports, reading competitions, FFA etc. and every year that went by I could see each group I was in dropping numbers. We had required reading sure, but most times we were allowed to read anything we wanted. I even got in *trouble* quite a few times for reading books in class instead of paying attention. Maybe my school was a gem when it came to "required" reading since literally all we had to do was go to our school library and look for books marked with a sticker that said "Accelerated Reader" and what grade level it was and as long as it was approved it was allowed. But now I'm disappointed in the newer generations with how they want to focus more on video games than anything else. I'm 21, I know exactly how it feels to read books for school since I'm a college student and unwinding by shooting up some zombies or something is great and all but I know you can get the same feeling by doing something else besides gaming. The only reason I game is because I don't have access to a great book or play sports because I fucked up my hip and I don't have my clarinet anymore either and add a job along with school and you can see life is pretty annoying. But kids do have access to everything that I don't and seeing such creativity being spent only on video games is infuriating. 2 of my nephews don't even know how to ride a fucking bike because they'd rather game than go outside or spend 10 minutes attempting to read a required book I *know* would entertain them because I read them myself when I was a kid their age. They have access, they just don't *want* to try something different when they can go home to a game that they know will entertain them, never exploring the possibilities and discovering talents they didn't know they had! When I was a kid I came home sore and tired from whatever sport I was in, sat down and did my homework (fuck math), practiced on my clarinet, and then if I *didn't* have a book I wanted to read, then I would watch TV or play video games. The only thing I found stressful or tiring in what I just said was the homework! Everything else was great for winding down, but do the majority of kids in the younger generations know how fun any of those can be? No. No they don't, because they won't even TRY! This is why I am so disappointed and angry with the newer generations.

NightStar787 I agree with that comment and since adults are leading the way with all the hand held devices the kids are naturally following their parents or peers. School is the only place to really get a real book or formal education for starters. You tube gives the impression that talent is in abundance but that can be misleading impressions only appears so. Talent and practice make it happen.

This little girl Brooke was awesome. I love the way Kristin interacts with children. I seen her show in Nashville. There was an amazing young singer "Ruby" there also. I think Kristin is genuinely blown away by the talents of young people. That IS why she does what she does. That is why is now has a charity back in her hometown of Broken Arrow, OK to help promote the arts and to help young people achieve their dream of performing in the arts. Very little is needed to allow this girl to have a career as a singer. Basic training to allow her to protect her voice is about it as she already has the natural unforced quality. That and teach her to love and enjoy what she is doing as much as possible
