What a privilege to live in the USA (I lived there for 24 happy years, HAD do come back to Brazil due to loss of job and wife´s cancer. Now I am too old to go back, and I PROUDLY HAVE AN AMERICAN PASSPORT, never been illegal). Here in Brazil a banjo like this is a dream for anyone, pros and everybody else!

I'm a guitarist that sometimes likes to attempt learning the Banjo. I bought a Deering Good Time open back , about 5 years ago here in England and I browsed around many very ornate budget brands from the far East before buying it . It's a beautiful understated instrument , very well made ,it sounds great and the tuning stability is solid .

@@DeeringBanjoCo I love Deering's philosophy. As the Banjo is an American instrument it felt right to look out for something I could afford that was US made and you guys made that possible. Not to gush , but if I lived over there ,I'd be knocking on your door looking for a job . I can make tea 🇬🇧😊👍

I have a gold tone ob-250, sounds great and looks like a work of art but at 13lb not very practical for a daily practice. I needed a much lighter banjo so I got a Good time and wow, 4lb sounds great and stays in tune couldn't ask for anything more. Lack of truss rod a bit of a worry but it does have 6 year guarantee .

I totally agree with Kristin, I have been playing a goodtime 2 special leader for about 4 years and it is by far the easiest to play and most forgiving banjo that I own. It's an absolute pleasure to play and sounds great with the tone ring. I only wish I'd started playing one of these instead of a cheap Chinese banjo.

I have a Goodtime and an older Goodtime II Grand Ol Opry, , also a Maple Blossom that is my main player. My Goodtime is always out in my rack, I love playing it! Its a “Good Time to play”! I dont think there is a better banjo on the market than a Deering!

Deering Banjo Company , witch banjo is easier to play, eagle 2 or sierra marple? Thank you!!

Playability, they are both very similar, with similar neck shapes and action. You wont go wrong with either. But if you want a more traditional bluegrass sound, go with the Sierra. If you want a nice mid-range punch, the Eagle is for you.
