Forever grateful to KTY and Simon Barry for bringing Beatrice to life. As a kid I wondered why I didn’t relate to women in TV and movies. It makes me tear up thinking about telling my young self that one day I’d get to see a character like Beatrice onscreen who would make me feel seen on every level. Such a shame Netflix is no longer investing in excellent writing and marginalized voices like they did when I first subscribed ten years ago. I have since cancelled my subscription. I hope another network that still values good writing picks up this masterpiece - I didn’t know what it was a few weeks ago and now I am simply rabid and forever changed.
