A camera on the right rear corner of the trailer would've been amazing on this route. I can't imagine how nervous Americans or Aussies must feel about the narrow roads :)

Easy, practice in Alaska (USA) first for a year, after that this would be an easy Sunday stroll;) we drive on dusty 1.5 lane dirt/snowy roads without guard rails. Instead of tunnels we drive over the mountains!
@Joze1090

We have this kind of road in the US! I live near a road that meanders down to a river (hairpin after hairpin), over the River then back up in the same fashion. I've run across a semi who was stuck on a hairpin, had to get out and help direct him out of his situation lol. I think he was a new driver.

I wonder how europeans would feel driving through 500 miles of tundra in alaska with 2 petrol stations along the route or through the desert in the outback with unpaved roads and no one to help you is a 400 mile radius.

@@JeepCherokeeful you know, Norwegians get a bit of snow each winter as well ... of course, Norway has spent quite a bit of money building more than a thousand road tunnels across the country, but still at many places you need to go over the mountain plateau to this day.

Hehe, we have similar roads in Scotland. The same issue with the tourists in summer, however we have the added pain that many continental drivers will panic and dive to the right when they meet oncoming traffic. Obviously we drive on the left, never seem to have a problem on any other road but some rural single track roads tourists seem to forget that you always yield to the left not the right here :D

Yes, it's a tandem with a straight trailer. Straight truck, one pivot point at the trailer connector, and a straight trailer. Reverses just like a semi. I drove (and reversed) one like that yesterday, so I know. I do prefer reversing dolly trailers, though.

I like how on the Euro trucks you can have one box attached to the trucks frame. And pull another trailer behind it. It would be pretty neat to have that on more trucks in the US. So we I wouldn't have to get a doubles and triples endorsement. Shouldn't need the endorsement if our trucks were like that, I would think.

The trucks here may not have good exterior and interior , but most of them have current generation power train and chasis. And 85% of trucks running through Himalaya are not tractor units pulling semi trailers , they are mostly box type 14 wheelers so they have sufficient power for those works and most of them do have power steering but still i see some old trucks on those roads

(I'm open to correction on any of this) Their trailer lengths are about about 16.5m , in europe the truck and trailer combined can only be 16.5m, any longer you need a permit. Also I think in the US there is no limit as to how long the tractor unit has to be, so add the unlimited truck length to a 16.6m trailer and you got a long truck.
@Rimrock300
@Rimrock300 6 жыл бұрын
Trailer length in Europe is about 13.5m, and about 18m total. In Sweden & Finland some variants of trucks with dolly are allowed to be 25.5m. Some people have a conventional US truck for hobby, they usually can have a trailer of just 11.5m. Not great economically to use for hauling goods in Europe, most common used as show trucks

Rimrock300 In Finland we also have some special trucks with permits and it can be 25-34m and weight 60-104t.

In the US, there are a few different trailer configurations allowed but our standard trailer is 53 foot trailers, which is 16m or so. There is no law or regulations on the length of a truck itself. Far as conventional trucks, that is the only trucks we have here. Cab over trucks went away years ago. As a American trucker, I'm a mega UK/European Trucking fan. I'd love to have a Scania myself. I have a lot of respect for UK & European truckers. More traffic, less driving hours, slower trucks, heavier loads, impassable roads such like this one in the video, smaller bunks. You guys & girls deserve a lot more then what you get, that's for damn sure.

Very well driving Man, Bravo! however I just wondering since Norway is one of the wealthiest countries in Europe, why can't they make these roads a little bit wider?!!!! (I mean no offence)!

They are making the roads wider all the time, I just like to record narrow roads because I find them interesting.

Do you see whats on the side of these roads? All solid rock. The price of blasting away all of that mountain, widening all those bridges and tunnels, and paving those roads would be absolutely astronomical. On top of that, we have enormous challenges with the longevity of our roads, again due to climate and geography. Heavy maintenance costs follow. The closest geographical comparison is to Switzerland, but Switzerland has a population density that justifies projects like that. Norway doesn't at all.

Why did the roads become so narrow? Although I saw that there was enough room to be wider 🇧🇻 Cheers from Romania! 🇷🇴

The land under the road is government property, the land on both sides belong to people. Also there's a few places where the ancestors cut through mountains to get the road through, and there's no benefit making the road wider than the most narrow spot.
