Definitely let me know if you are a photoshop user looking for specific tools in Krita, and if it exists I'll make a video about it! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

the moment you showed that i could lock the transparency, BOOM, everything i needed was there. i just lost photoshop and started Krita like an hour and a half ago. i like to do all my line work analog and then scan it in and burn the line work. this video helped me out so much. thank you! i haven't found a magic eraser equivalent yet but i'm not sure if it has one.

I love this channel. It has saved (a bit of an exaggeration) my photos, because I was desperate for these tools in Krita! I work with Gimp and Darktable almost every day, and haven't touched Adobe software since Photoshop CS6. Now I'm testing Krita (on Linux) to see if it really is a serious alternative to Photoshop and Gimp. I work mainly in photo retouching and compositing; so I don't paint or draw, but want to use Krita like a regular photo editor. The workflow of Krita, which by the way was not invented in Asia but in my home country Germany in 1999 by a computer scientist named Matthias Ettrich, seems to be completely different from the one in Gimp. Your instructive and inspiring videos helped me a lot to understand Krita better. Many, many thanks for that !!! I will recommend your channel to others - and would like to give you a small compliment: You have a very pleasant voice, which I like to listen to. With kind regards from Germany Mic 🙂

@@JustCallMeInsane You're welcome :-) This compliment came from the heart! I have one more question though: what brush (or tool) can I use in Krita to selectively blur and sharpen a person's skin, for example? This is a very important option for me that I am looking for in Krita. I would greatly appreciate a brief explanation. So I want to soften the skin and sharpen other areas.

@@TheRedSpecialPlayer under brush presets, theres an FX category. There is a blur and sharpen option there. :) you can also use a blender brush to smooth things out

@@JustCallMeInsane My God, they answer faster than I can write :-) Okay, I'll look at the FX category at my leisure. What on earth is a Blender brush? I have never read these terms in German language in Gimp ... I see already - I have to completely rethink in Krita.

@@JustCallMeInsane Hello, with this message I report back briefly 🙂 I found the brushes that you recommended to me. With them I was able to solve all my problems, because after I switched Krita to US language, I immediately understood what you wanted to tell me. Sorry, I was a bit overtired yesterday. Just sharpening with the brush, didn't give such good results. So I will selectively sharpen with layers, which I am used to through Gimp and which gives excellent results. Now, thanks to your help, I have all the tools together in Krita to edit my photos as usual (and without compromise), which I am very happy about! My point is that Krita is a great alternative to Gimp and Photoshop for my personal workflow, because I don't miss any more tools! I create various effects using traditional image processing techniques, which I find more interesting and appealing than resorting to automatic filters. The only thing I will still buy is a high quality graphics tablet that I will then use instead of the mouse. Once again I would like to thank you for your support! With kind regards from Germany Mic 🙂

and what if I only want to dodge midtones or shadows?
@JustCallMeInsane
@JustCallMeInsane 4 жыл бұрын
Hm, I know that there's a filter layer you can use/adjust based on midtones/shadows/highlights. I will have to look into the brush.
@JustCallMeInsane
@JustCallMeInsane 4 жыл бұрын
Taking back my previous comment - I had missed something. In the brush creator, if you open up the options on the left with the arrow icon and down to the plus icon, you can make your own dodge brush that will only affect midtones, shadows etc. Just change the filter type to dodge, and you can pick which it will effect. :)
