I am currently reading The autobiography of a yogi, that's where I found out about kriya yoga. This was my first time experiencing it and I must say it was quite a multidimensional experience. I never felt more grounded and peaceful, ever. Thank you!

I found this video years ago and found the exercises work so well that I would always recommend them to others. I forgot about it and just endured fatigue instead. I found it again today, after searching through many other video listings because THESE EXERCISES WORK and are taught so peacefully and gently here by Swami Bodhichitananda. Thank you.

Valdemar Steen How can u say that? What is the source of your claim? May be you belong to the same creed of westerners who believe India to be an accidental ‘discovery’ of Columbus. FYI, Hundreds of centuries before Columbus ‘discovered’ the landmark, this ancient region existed as BHARATVARSH or BHARAT ( in short form) where the Hinduism’s most beloved lord SRI KRISHNA was incarnated to bestow upon the whole humanity, the divine knowledge of GEETA and YOGA...He is devoutly revered as the YOGESHWAR (Lord of Yoga) by Hindus all over the world. And for your further info, Hinduism is the most ancient spiritual culture known to the humans from which many other religions like Jainism, Buddhism & Sikhism were evolved.

This is my first time watcing this video. I am standing in my kitchen, listening very closely to the medulla oblongata part that is mentioning the part where you say "imagine a bright golden light" at your third eye area. well the most intense, bright light was shining through my kitchen window while i was doing the EE exercises. I have lived in my house since May 2017 and i have never, once seen the sunset. I must say i felt as if that was a sign. I am currently in isolation at my house due to the pandemic and it is probably at least 30 days into it we are on a stay at home order, but not until today, at 7:45 p.m. on this day, Saturday, April 25th, did i see that beautiful bright golden light. i will make time every day now to practice the EE and hopefully i will see that amazing sunset while i am practicing. I am so blown away that i had to share with everyone. I so believe in signs and i was given an amazing one today, there are no coincidences. Love, light and healing energy to all during this time. Thank you Swami Bodhichitananda, I by chance found the book autobiography of a Yogi and in it found a paper for SRF.... Within that finding (someone who's never done yoga of any kind) found Kriya Yoga. I really wanted to join tonight's session and was desperately looking for the beginning exercises to be able to follow along... I must say this is so well laid out and explained, that I feel excited and blissful for this experience daily! Thank you thank you for being a beacon of knowledge and love ✨ -Namaste 🥰

I am reading these days "An autobiography of a yogi" written by Paramhansa Yaganandji. Lots about Kriya yoga revealed in this book. This prompted me to know about it more. These exercises will be helpful i hope. Thank you Swami Bodhichitananda ji and YogaVidyaEnglish. :)

In other words, Yoganandaji felt his mission had been completed in the West at that time. He volunteered to give up his physical body for that lifetime. By the way, his mortal body was incorruptible, just as the Roman Catholics admire their saints such as St. Bernadette of Lourdes, St. Padre Pio, St. Clare of Assisi, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Catherine Labour, St. Pope John XXII et al are to this day without signs of decomposition!

Hi, around the 3 minute mark and following, here is the historical timeline. Yogananda left India in 1920, and at that time, Bishnu was not practicing yoga, weightlifting, or anything of the sort. Bishnu began his training under Professor RN Guha Thakurta, whom Sananda had introduced him too, in 1922, at City College in Calcutta. Bishnu trained at Ranchi for a couple of years prior, under Yogananda, and then went to school at Scottish Church College in North Calcutta, on Cornwallis Street, the same school which Yogananda had attended, until 1922. Bishnu, by his own account, in his 1930 book, prior to his taking up training in 1922, was, at nineteen years old, “a weakling.” He weighed “only 68 pounds” and was a mere “25 inches around my chest.” Otherwise, very interesting, thanks.

This is very good, I read the Auto biography of Yogananda, I was delighted with the book, I have this excesses printed but to see it in a video it's great your explanation is very clear your work very good, it reminds me I want to go to India to practice more of kriya yoga, is it possible? i have a question here and will be highly happy to get the answers..after these practices along with those mudras(khechari, talabya, maha mudra, mula bandha etc).. how long it takes to start the actual core KRIYA process? i know that there are some or many very confidential and secret kriya methods.. how long does it need to get upto that???

The energization exercises used to be taught routinely at the LA convocation to the attending public by SRF without any contract to limit its spread. I attended such a session in 1973. I do not understand shivamahadev's objection and accusation. Swami Bodhichitananda is duly crediting Pujya Paramhans Yoganandji Maharaaj. Last but not least I hope and pray fellow Kriyabans remember their heritage of knowledge being transmitted from guru to disciple without the modern copyright laws or corporate intermediaries. We are all blessed by the ancient seers for not copyrighting their material.

I've never seen anyone do these exercises with such long (3 second open, 3 second closed) pauses. This is great if your not a householder, i guess. I have limited time each day... I've done these religiously for weeks on end, then dropped them entirely, then come back to doing them again. They definition make a difference. What i have not determined is if they make enough of a difference that they justify the meditating time i lose every time i do them. I've basically settled on doing then once per day. The decision results in 15 minutes more meditation time per day

FYI, it seems a couple exercises were skipped over: #23 arm recharging (from shoulders), and #25 arm recharging (from forehead)

I have started taking lesson, but during my practice of hung su meditation, it becomes very difficult for me to locate the center between the eyebrows...... What should I do? I'm upset

The more important thing is to remain aware of the movement of the breath. The focus at the spiritual eye between the eyebrows is a secondary thing that often remains unconscious while watching breath. When you get into the current of attention that flows undistracted, you will find your attention is focused there without effort.

please with great respect to Paramhans yogananda we have learned this exercises through video only and these are beneficial no individual can claim copy right on this if you neatly observe u would understand these exercises are commonly used PREPARATORY (PURAK) for all yoga classes. even entire kriya yoga is practiced in India under different names unfortunately under the name of secrecy commercial market has opened. Tree has to grow and produce more trees its law of nature.

Regarding the Double-Breathing Exercise (With Tension), Yogananda said we should consecutively tense the calves, thighs, buttocks, lower abdomen, upper abdomen and stomach, arms, chest, neck, and head, in a continuous upward wave of tension and then relax all tensed body parts in reverse order from head to feet. I find this incredibly difficult to do. How is this possible in such a short space of time?

Namaste Cosmic Buddhi! Some yoga techniques are difficult... try again and practice often. If Yogananda teached this technique it must work! But if its too difficult then you could practice firtst other Pranayama techniques.

i always thought the double breathing is inhale twice... short n long through nose and exhale through the Mouth in same pattern... short n long... but I see you are doing double breathing through nose all throughout? please clarify...
