Finely ground and dust-free material for a wide range of applications. Crushed straw is used as bedding in poultry houses, dairy cattle stalls, in sows and fattening stables, as feedstuff in feed rations with weak raw fibre, as soil cover in strawberry cultivation and as a breeding ground for mushroom cultivation. The processed straw is more absorbent, easier to distribute in the barn, the manure channels remain free and the manure is mineralised more quickly. With the KRONE PreChop forage harvester you are well prepared for all requirements.
The integrated front-mounted shredder for KRONE large bales presses of the BiG Pack 1270 XC, 1290 XC and 1290 HDP XC series. With 96 rotating knives and two rows of counter-knives offset to each other, a theoretical chaff length of 21 mm can be achieved. PreChop not only chops, but also filaments the straws visibly. Even with very short straw, the bales are dimensionally stable and easy to transport.
Modular attachment: Do you want to equip your BiG Pack XC large baler with a PreChop? No problem. No problem. Thanks to the modular extension, this is possible at any time. The drawbar extension provides sufficient clearance between the chopper and tractor wheels. The PreChop can be switched on and off at any time via a manual gearbox. If you would like to press without PreChop, you can easily drive over the swath with a lifting height of 52 cm.
Exemplary chopping: The knife rotor has a large diameter of 525 mm and is equipped with 88 reciprocating knives in a spiral shape. At over 3,000 rpm, the stalks are conveyed through a counter-blade consisting of two rows of 47 fixed blades each, before being thrown directly onto the BiG Pack pick-up. The lower counter-blade can be adjusted in five steps, the upper one in three steps. All knives can be used on both sides for a longer service life.
Easy to dismantle: If you do not need your PreChop for a longer period of time, the forage harvester can be easily dismantled. After loosening the pins and the PTO shaft, the forage harvester is moved out sideways via transport rollers.
