Usually older gens stop caring as much over time, but it's not absolute. For the linguistic fans. Canadian French was much more isolated, what with being on a distant continent for a a century or so, compared to French French which was still bouncing around against all the other languages around it. So a lot of French French speakers will say French Canadian sounds like someone doing an old timey period accent since it changed a lot less since colonial times.

@PerfectDeath412 күн бұрын
Some more detailes explained about it was that European France was very split on regional languages and wasn't unified when Quebec was colonized. However, the colonial people actually unified a common language first with a major influence being volunteer unmarried women were educated by the King, given gold, and sent to Quebec to find a man to marry. This basically meant the old Parisian nobility's french taught to these women set a common standard. Eventually Continental France would standardize French separate of Quebec which came under the British and Quebec wanted to protect its traditional roots. There are still some different accents within Quebec like Gascon which is REAL wild to hear, like someone's constantly trying to clear their throat of flem. xD

France French and Québécois French are indeed quite different, one example, in Québec we use more "central" vowels or near-central while in France it's more "front" vowels (like, the portion of the mouth where the sound is "located" is more in the center or back than in France, which is often nearer the tip of the tongue). Or in Québec we often don't bother pronouncing half of the last syllable of quite a few words... As well as MANY other quirks each others don't have.
