Pen Tool vs Pencil Tool - Drawing Lines in Affinity Designer

This answers SO many questions I had on the difference between these two tools. Thanks! Exactly what I needed. BTW, I just found that in drawing the square with the pencil (and holding shift to get straight segments) you can still draw it as a single object by releasing shift at the corners (while keeping the mouse down). That creates a node, and you can continue in any direction, without starting a new curve.
