I have a Pro 4 Ultimate, and we all know how they run. That said, if your crawling in Moab or doing trails in the mountains there’s nothing wrong with the KRX and its power. Desert and dunes you might be underwhelmed, but there’s also a massive price difference between the KRX and my Ultimate. And that’s before I started throwing thousands in upgrades at my R. The best machine is the one you can afford and gets you out with friends and family.

Our KRX 2 seater has a PV3 with the trinity tune. We also have RCOR clutch weights. Running 35s You should try 0 additional weights for your crawling, and of course adding weight will increase your mid to top range. You should have the 1,2 and 4 gram weights in the kit. Now the fun is finding a area that's less dusty and experimenting to your driving style and feel. Love your channel and hopefully if we make the trip from Michigan to Sand Hollow this year we'll see you on the trails

Pull the clutch cover off and GoPro the belt. Riding this winter in the snow with my Pro XP I got to a big open field and was ripping at around 30-40 on the speedo just drifting. My machine is mostly stock on 32's. In low I was against the low range speed limiter at 35ish on the speedo, and I ran like 150*f belt temp. Shifted to high and ripped some more for like 5-10 minutes and was getting the belt up to 250*f before I quit. About 12-14" snow and drifting o couldn't quite get the speedo above 38mph or so. After loading up and going home I checked the clutches out and belt after getting it that hot and found the bottom sheive of the primary had so black rubber. So I am guessing in the Pro XP it doesn't hardly start moving the clutches till 35ish. So initial hit 0-20 I'm sure on the KRX is getting the RPMs up then after 20 somewhere the belt shifts. Be cool video to help set clutching and understand it better. Also a GoPro on the dash to compare timing to speed etc. Long winded sorry.

Id rethink the front harness shoulder belt mounting. That angle is way too steep coming out the back of the seat. You dont want to compress your spine if there ever comes that time that you need them and they end up doing more harm than good.

For this test to be accurate, you need to be on the same road section in the same direction. Because if you re slightly uphill on a test, and downhill on the next test, it can do a huge difference on a low horse power car like that...

I sent mad moose an email about the tuner and tune last week. Neither are on their website for the KRX after searching through pages and pages of product. I’ll wait alittle longer and look elsewhere if they aren’t responsive. Maybe that’s why everyone uses other brands tunes, because they respond?

I was looking at the KRX for the price but after all the upgrades seems like I’d be better off just getting a Turbo RR XRC. I’ll be doing tons of riding at Sand Hollow and in the dunes of SoCal from time to time. @jacksloan3516 Жыл бұрын
Ok guys, forgive me for my ignorance. You said changing weights would give you more top end or bottom end. I thought changing weights would just change the rate at which the CVT belt ratio changed and that unless you change the sheaves to a different profile the top end and the bottom end would remain the same (the ratio has remained the same) it just would change that ratio either faster or slower.
@OffCamberInd Жыл бұрын
Maybe “top end” and “bottom end” aren’t the correct terms. You can put weight in the “heel” or the “toe” of the clutch weight and it will change the engagement
@jacksloan3516 Жыл бұрын
@@OffCamberInd It makes since that the weight change could improve your 0-60 times but your top speed would remain the same because you hadn't change the ratio. Hopefully I will see you guys at Sand Hollow if the weather improves, still snowing today up here in Pine Valley. I did get an annual pass for Sand Hollow, but since I don't have a trailer I drive my RMAX down there on the back roads and they are way too muddy right now. I hate the mud especially since my outside faucets aren't on. As of this AM we have gotten 10' of snow since Thanksgiving. We are 288% of our annual precipitation. Keep up the good work. Enjoy your videos.
@marka1712 Жыл бұрын
@@jacksloan3516 not faster speed just more power on the top end. Adding weight to the adjustable weights alters how they engage which will give a little and take a little from the power put down to the tires.
@HarleyGriffith Жыл бұрын
Plus, most custom tunes increase or eliminate your rev limit, which actually can get you more top speed at maximum CVT ratio if you’ve got the power to make it happen. That’s where adjusting the clutch weights to match your new power curve gets black magicy. 😊
