I agree. I just watched the tutorial last night and quickly got lost. Then I tried a game against the atoma and lost terribly. The game is more complicated than I thought so this is very helpful.

Glad it was helpful! Yeah the digital version for this was really good! They're a bit slow with releasing the DLCs, but at least the get them out eventually.

I think that it's pretty good to not to bring them out to fast so the game will have players all the time over the years

unless i'm mistaken, there's no way to see who's ahead, until the end of the game. you can always look at your opponents' boards and have a rough idea, but still... it's a very enjoyable and relaxing game after a day at work.

Yeah I actually like board games where you can't see who is winning. Keeps everyone engaged and having fun up until the end. Then you add the scores, and declare the winner, move on to the next game! Feeling like you're behind in the middle of the game can be a bad feeling.

Yeah this is definitely not a substitute for playing through the tutorial or reading the rule book (assuming you were learning the physical game!) But I realized making this, that not everyone watching this probably knows how to play Wingspan! It is a really neat board game, happy to see it getting such a clean and polished digital version!

@@SudsMcWhiskey Hey, $20 is a bit steep, the game might seem kind of empty or wanting for those who do not have people to play with online! Playing against the bots with just the base game I think will get repetitive. But this is a fantastic digital rendition of a great board game. Board games do shine best when playing with friends/family though! It'll be interesting to see if they update the game with the expansions as the physical expansions arrive or not. Also I'm interested in seeing if the expansions will be free updates (probably not) or how much they would cost each.

@@KRX_ The physical board game is £60 ($78 USD) here, so I feel like it's a pretty good price considering. I also have a decent laptop, so I'm hoping that playing the digital version with others in person will be cheaper and more convenient than the physical version. I would be surprised If they didn't add the expansions as DLC, I'd be happy to pay though!

Nope. The birds on the cards do have little animations, although that can also be disabled in the options menu.

I'm not completely sure what your question is. Although I will say I haven't had any technical issues with the game. So you should be able to play with other people over Steam!

Maybe try watching some How to Play, based around the physical board game. Might be easier to see how the different elements fit together. Wingspan is not intended to only be for the smart. Also, if you own the digital version already, try working through the in game tutorial, just going step by step and reading through the blurbs. Sadly in this video there was A LOT to talk about, it was hard to balance it all and keep the video length down. So the teaching of the game was weak. I also think it's a big harder to teach the digital version, compared to the physical version, since you don't have it set up on a table and can't point to the different aspects as easily.

@@KRX_ I have a bird brain lol,tried the digital game and my brain got fried,too much info at once,I am used to games like Monopoly,I am sure birds would struggle with this game also. This is one of those indy games made for the very smart middle,upper class.

@@Jellybeantiger Well, we all get to choose how we spend our time, so I don't see the point of dwelling on your perceived idea you cannot learn how to play this game. Although the learning of anything, such as a new board game, is more dependent on enthusiasm for the subject matter, than on the ability of the person. This game is not anymore complex than Monopoly in terms of the mechanisms and such of the games. I am not however trying to convince you to play this game. If you're convinced in your thinking, then you're free to now pursue other interests. I imagine if you're still here, you wanted to learn/play this game on some level, maybe another tutorial would explain it better? Who knows, but that's for you to decide. Of course the interest of board gaming as a hobby is not restricted to any social class, so I think artificially bringing in social class is a little odd, saying this game is for the "upper class" [to enjoy.] Board gaming and digital gaming in general is a relatively accessible hobby compared to many others.

I'm not sure how we're defining gameplay? Board games are just that, games which are played. So the act of experiencing a board game could easily be described as the game-play of the board game? This is a digital adaptation of a popular card (board) game that came out a couple years ago. The digital aspect of this game allows people to play the game more easily without having to set up the physical game, or gather people together around a table. So this simply provides a higher level of accessibility for people who want to experience the game-play of the board game "Wingspan." " If you're looking for a traditional video game, you have thousands to choose from, good luck!

You're not wrong! I think that was self admitted during? Although I guess it is good to let others know by commenting about it. Thank you for checking out the video, you're not going to find a lot of structure on this channel. This wasn't a large project. This was meant to be a lazy showcase for my community. If you happened across this video randomly, I apologizes for the lack of professionalism! Although as mentioned in the video covering this is particularly difficult. Board games require explanation on a more step by step level than a typical computer game. So instead of just giving more thoughtful or strategic commentary, you're also juggling the how to play, and the differences/unique features of the digital adaptation. I do believe that if someone was to watch this video, it would provide the necessary information to make a smart decision on whether to buy/try this game. Although it does bounce around a bit, it covers everything of importance :) Good luck!

@@elanmurray4963 Yeah this wasn't as well thought out as it should of been. I'm hoping they add the Expansions to the digital version, from there I think we'd definitely make more content and get a better rhyme for explaining the game!
