In spyro's adventure's defence, the game was not only foreshadowed in the final legend of spyro game, but it was meant to be a sequel, the name is basically saying that this is spyro's last adventure.

I remember that ending, it literally shows Skylands being created. Also Spyro & Cynder from that game eventually died and then were reborn into their Skylanders forms. Spyro had already been reborn with a different form at least once in the first legend of Spyro.

It definitely would've been cool to see Fox McCloud as a Supercharger, and while it maybe sad that he wasn't, however there does exist sort of an equivalent to that! Have you ever heard of another toys-to-life game called Starlink: Battle For Atlas? If you haven't I don't blame you, because a lot of people didn't know it existed, which is sad cause it's actually a really good game! To sum it up Starlink is basically like a mix between Skylanders and No Man's Sky! Or should I say... No Man's Skylanders? XD Anyway, just like how Bowser & Donkey Kong were exclusive to only the Nintendo ports of Superchargers and Imaginators, Starlink also had a special Nintendo exclusive crossover character/figure (you guessed it), Fox McCloud! Not only is he a playable character in the game, but just like how Bowser & Donkey Kong got their own personal Supercharger Vehicles, Starfox also has his own Starship Vehicle in Starlink, the Arwing! In fact, it fits perfectly considering that Starlink is a game partially based around areal/space combat, so Starfox was the ideal perfect fit for a crossover! Not to mention the Nintendo Switch version also has 3 other exclusive playable Starfox characters in the game, Falco, Peppy, and Slippy! However, unlike Fox they don't have their own physical figures, they're digital paid DLC only. Anyway, not only was Starfox IMO a perfect crossover for Starlink, but the Fox & Arwing figures themselves also give us a very good idea of what it would've looked like if there was a Starfox crossover in Skylanders!

Looking back, it's really weird that TFB made both Skylanders and the Reignited trilogy. I find it hard to believe that it somehow took seven years to make a Spyro model that didn't look like a pug.

You forgot to mention that Imaginators is also on the Wii U, which the Bowser and Donkey Kong figures are also compatible with. In fact, from what I've seen, the Wii U version of Imaginators is actually much more affordable, accessible and easier to find than the Nintendo Switch version, so if you own a Wii U, you're in luck!

The skylanders idea was actually pitched to nintendo before activision. And they were going to have a greater emphasis on using existing characters. If you mean for academy, then yes he was already part of the series but his story as a crossover character continued

Technically he counts, however the last game in the Spyro timeline does depict skylands being made, so the Skylanders series is a sequel to the Spyro series. Spyro & Cynder also look different in Skylanders because they eventually died after the final Spyro game and were reborn before the first Skylanders game.
