Excellent video, and my lock is mounted Rock Solid! I'm not sure about others or maybe an older design bracket but absolutely no metal is touching my frame because the base rests on the straps. Wonderful, well thought out design. And too easy to mount thank's to this video. I ran the excess rubber strap underneath the metal base along with the nylon strap through the loop, pulled it snug and attached the mount. I then used a square of Scotch 3M Double sided foam mounting tape underneath the end of the excess nylon strap to secure it to the nylon surounding the down tube where i mounted it. Never trimmed either strap which is a good thing in case i want to mount it on a different bike with a bigger tube or whatever. Solid!! and look's neat too. Thank you for posting this video!

Very good tutorial for installing the Kryptonite U-Bracket. Very clearly explained and shown and made it very easy for me to this on my own bike afterwards. Super helpful, except if there's a way to f*** it up, I'll find it. Next video, would be great for people like me to remind us at 2:39 to make sure the body bracket is UPRIGHT first before attaching to tug block. I did finally figure out that loosening it with the hex wrench could loosen it enough to flip it. Thought the hex wrench in the kit didn't work. Had to use my own tool to make it work.

metal with painted metal is no a good idea, i recomend put a little piece of innertube rubber in the metal piece to prevent scratches!!

Excellent video. I was initially worried about the metal tugblock scraping my frame but of course when you tighten the allen key it pulls it away from the frame. My tip is not to "try" the lock in the bracket until it's either i) fitted to the bike or ii) the allen key is tightened into the metal tugblock while off the bike. If you clip the lock into the bracket off the bike and things are a bit loose, you will not be able to get the lock out of the bracket (possibly what happened to Raulito Mares below). In this case you will need to disassemble the bracket to remove the lock. You will see that the lock/release mechanism is just a single piece of bendy plastic which also serves as the release button. Bit disappointing given the quality of the lock and the thought that has obviously gone into designing the bracket.

Why doesn't the rubber go under the metal bracket and if, not what's the purpose of it - I don't see how the nylon strap will do any damage to the frame.

The rubber acts as a shim, to help keep the nylon strap from slipping.

If you're paying for kryptonite why isn't the holder made out of metal it just seems to be a bit weird that one bits plastic and the lock bits metal I mean come on 2017 if it's made out of aluminium worth it was made out of Steel I mean it'll be a little bit more heavier but it be more reinforced for the lock

I put the rubber under the metal clamp. It works but looks like i did it wrong. Also, does the hex bolt go into the frame? Will this damage the frame with dents when you tighten? Not worried about the paint more than structural damage.

So does it come with a spline lug? I can't see it listed in the 'package contents' you describe. Yet it is pictured (in most cases 2 are pictured) in other product descriptions online. If it does come with the spline lug(s) what are the diameter measurements?

The correct spline is already installed on the lock. If you purchase the Flex Frame Bracket separately, it comes with a 13mm and a 16mm spline.

Is the bracket mounted on your bike? It is easier to remove if you have that added leverage. If it is installed on your bike, you can try a little lube. We don't include this bracket with our heavier U-Locks, like the New York LS or New York Fahgettaboudit Mini U-Lock. We recommend our H-Bar Handlebar Carrier for the heavier locks.

Yes. Apologies. My one is Kryptonite New York. With the help of this brilliant video I could put the bracket on and then change the angle slightly so the lock fitted in the holder exactly where I wanted it.
