God bless you, Krysta, your family, Rev. Andy Bales and all the wonderful people at Union Rescue Mission. Keep your head to the sky! It always takes two steps back to take a giant leap forward. You are living proof that there is help out there and dreams can be discovered and fulfilled through rehabilitation. I too stayed in homeless shelters with my children and believe there are more who care than not. Breaking your silence takes so much courage but God is always there, we just don't always find him until we surrender to him and as we take that giant leap from one stage to the next we must have full confidence that God will never close one door without opening another. Congratulations to your mother for 6 years of sobriety. I loved performing for your residents, Andy at the Los Angeles City Health Fair we organized out back of URM. It was an honor to be invited by the late Anthony Boubon of Los Angeles Coalition Against Violence to sing my songs and tell my story and encourage others to remain focused and not give up. It was the most receptive audience I ever performed for.
