The use of fairies when she was riding with Culpepper really hit me hard, cause that reminds us that she was a child when she was married to Henry and no more than 21 when she was killed. Since we don't know Katherine's birthdate, though we know she was around 17 when she married Henry (who was over 40, mind you), she's confirmed to be at MOST 19 at her death... most likely 18, since it happened in February.
@Alexandraadftxr70522 жыл бұрын
She was 16 years old. If I know well getting married at 16 was a really rare thing. Yes most women get married when they get they first period, but they get they first period latter, at the ages of 18, and 19, because now we can acess nutriens bettter, and more of it, then in those Times. She was 16 when she married some (48) year old guy, and was executed at 17. She never even became a legal adult. When people say “beauty is pain” is stupid because “you shouldn’t have to try”, remember Katherine. She never *tried* to be pretty; she was born with it. Most people would consider her beauty a blessing, but in the end it was the curse that killed her. A SEVENTEEN HEAR OLD WAS TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND KILLED. How did she end up there? Commenting to boost the algorithm! This is honestly the best “All You Wanna Do” animtic I’ve ever seen. First of all, the allusion to fairytails to show Young!Katherine’s naivete; second of all, the replacement of the men with monsters, and Young!Katherine with the Adult!Katherine during the assaults is such a tasteful and creative way to how the situation’s horror, I appreciate the hand prints on body imagery that most animatics do but the fight scenes are so much more revolting, expressive, creative and violent; Third of all, I love the use of medieval artwork in this, very keeping with the time period; Finally, fourth of all, the choreography is stunning! This is some of the most sophisticated choreography, I love how even the camera seems to be part of the dance/visual story telling, I’ve seen from an indie artist since CalArts projects.

I wish I had a better vocabulary and intellect to say how wonderfully crafted this truly is. The drawings are so detailed and fun and the monsters, god, so freaking well done. Katherine looking so tiny compared to the throne, her being dropped by a freaking monstrous what? Bird? Katherine having a tiny moment of realization when the crown was put on her, oh gosh... And her being the hero to her past self. To stop wearing rose-tinted glasses and see herself and the situation she really is in. None of those men are heroes, they're all filth and hollow, disgusting beings. I'm not sure if I'm seeing things but did Henry have a pig snout? The pixie, the rainbow, the eventual quest of saving herself. Animator, I respect you so freaking much.

I love how it goes from animated to still sketches and back-it feels like watching a WIP reel from an actual animated show or film, because that's how it's done. You'll see different pieces of the scene in different stages of completion, and it feels wonderfully organic. I also love how you used puppets in addition to the fairy tale motif to show how Katherine was manipulated as a child into what was ultimately a truly tragic course of events. I loved how you showed all of her "lovers" (using the term VERY loosely, given the power dynamic and abuse) transforming into medieval monsters-but I also love that they looked almost like classical Asian creatures as well! Medieval history is more than just western Europe, and that influence in the design of the lions and beasties gives the art an almost global feel. This is truly stunning art, and it knocked my goddamn sock off! Keep up the brilliant work!

Everything about this is so cleaver and brilliant. It's wild, it's accurate to the time, to her story, the movements and faces are so animated despite it only being an animatic, I love everything about it

I'm more used to very polished/finished animatics in a rather clean style so I was a bit sceptical going into this but you more that won me over! This is amazing

Commonly children who are neglected or are overexposed to sexual stuff get hypersexual tendencies, and it’s brought out so well in adult Katherine because she was still young and dependent on others around her, which is why she behaves like this, while child Katherine is too young to completely understand what is happening to her besides the monsters under the bed. Adult Katherine understands the power behind her seduction until the end when she realizes she needs to fight back and become her own knight in shining armor. She sacrifices herself because younger her has a few years left to live, meanwhile she’s already dead, which is why her head is a skull or cut off. It’s a tragedy that is done so well in this because the detail to Katherine’s story that is made through imagery is so powerful and adds layers to her character.

the movement and composition of this entire animatic is priceless, i love all of the imagery and the representation of monsters once the men reveal what they really want from Katherine. The fact that when she's married to Henry, the entire castle becomes a habitat for monsters really show how she lost hope for being anything else but desireable and abused

This is so unbelievably cool. The animatic's composition is so wonderful and full of movement, and the symbolism with Katherine's abusers and the horrible beasts is so incredibly clever and effective. Kudos
