Perhaps Zimmerman was born to play Chopin. He has not only genius technical but also a good understanding of Chopin whereas nowadays some pianist abuses technical skills to demonstrates Chopin's music and they lost the depth and the emphasis.

There could be lots of similarities in their mindsets, Chopin and Zimerman being compatriots. What do you think?
@crescenzoverde-vlog3 жыл бұрын
Totally I agree. Couldnt be explained better.
@sheiringhoddoucy18043 жыл бұрын
@@crescenzoverde-vlog I don’t think their both being Polish fully explains it. Zimerman isn’t the only Polish pianist to perform Chopin, and I’ve heard non-Polish pianists perform Chopin better than Polish pianists. So the Polish connection, while it undoubtedly helps, is neither necessary nor sufficient. Whatever it is, Zimerman’s performances of Chopin stand head and shoulders above everyone else imo. He seems to connect with Chopin’s music in a way no other musician does.

Yeah I think people forget that Chopin wrote music during the romantic era which more than anything focused on the emotional expression and individuality, because (quick History lesson) the romantic music was written after ideals of Enlightenment and the French Revolution which really focused on individuality, nationalism, and the freedom and liberty to express oneself moving from previous system of beliefs and government.

Gorgeous interpretation with rich the harmony exposed. Some professional performances concentrate on the top line and delicacy, which is another beautiful way to play the piece, just different. The great thing about this performance though for players is that it is of a style that can be aspired to be amateur players of a good intermediate ability - albeit perhaps without the expectation of achieving Zimerman's technique and touch.
@Florestan88 Жыл бұрын
That's the best interpretation for me. It's a shame that the recording is a bit out of tune. Anyways it still can't effect the beautifulness of this interpretation.
