Yes you do, I think there is a couple different options. A 2 stage is definitely there for the free software version. I wonder how it would work on full auto honestly.

Good video!, do you know of pre cocking is included with basic firmware as it looks a little bare?

It is an option to click on the basic firmware, yes. However I do not know if it works as I have not used it yo be honest.

I didn't really click on all the options that are available, I believe if you check out the gate website it will tell you what options are available. Hope that helps

The firmware updates I was talking about are free. What you pay extra for(if you so choose) is more options to edit on the Mosfet, basically unlocking more in dept modifications/personalization. I have only paid for the physical USB link once and that's it. No further purchases have had to been made

hey bro, so i installed the aster and all components in the gb. I dont have the gate usb wire, but i plugged in a usb c to usb to connect the gate usb link to the pc. i pull up the app, and the light is blue but for some reason the gate usb is not being recognized. I look up what to do next and it said to download a driver which is on the app itself. i click the link and it pulls up a bunch of stuff, and im not sure what to download. any suggestions? thanks ps i have the gate usb c female to gate usb a male coming via mail, but that cord shouldnt make a difference right? its the same as any just with a gate logo on it

I would try the computer first, the usb link is probably very out of date perhaps. It is kind of a pain setting it up the first time, it took me a while too. If I remember correctly I had to install the control station, then there was another software on gates website for the link (on troubleshooting page I believe) restart my system then plug in the usb link. It is also possible that it not being the original usb wire that the link is not working as well, but I doubt that. www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm See if this website helps

@@airsofteo9105 ok i clicked the link. im not sure what to click from here. i do have windows 10, but im not sure what bit to download or where to go lol. i do have the control station downloaded and up to date

At the top of that page you'll see the Windows ones, depending on if your systems 32 or 64 bit. You'll want to see what one you have then download the one for that setup. Then close the gate control station and plug in the usb link. And install the driver see if that works for it.

@@airsofteo9105 ok i did that, restarted and opened the app. Still giving me the same issue and telling me to download it or contact support. this is a pain in the ass lol. 64 bit so i chose that to download but didnt do anything

Yeah I know man, I went thru the same with my a few laptop back. I will say that the driver link I sent you did fix my problem after I reviewed my notes, so the fact is not for you might me there is a actual issue. Id contact Gate about it. I will say they respond faster if you Facebook message them. Let me know what they say, cas that's the only idea I have. Sorry I couldn't be a better help
