while fan-made Madness animations are usually very good visually and you can see the effort put into them, most of them share a certain flaw. That is, they're very stop-and-go, there are so many awkward pauses that REALLY break the flow, and the action is often way too slow-paced like, in the original series, each combat sequence is non-stop, fast-paced action, extremely well choreographed too, which is the main reason it looks so satisfying

things that make me want to instantly turn the animation off: - stormtrooper aim or straight up shooting at something else so protagonist never gets hurt - other bullshit reasons to dodge bullets - enemies straight up walking into the gunfire - recoil so strong guns almost do a 180 or are simply raised above the heads like kids playing with toy guns - when protagonist has an ability but uses it once to bullshit their way out of a bullet. what i do like: - when protagonist blocks or deflects bullets with a melee weapon and does so with his skill instead of enemies targetting the weapon only - proper recoil on guns - when protagonist has abilities like boosted reflexes so he can dodge melee and sometimes bullets, requirement for all the flips and shizz - protagonist doesn't casually walks and shoots literal stationary targets

alt method for transparency 1. make sure symbol is movie clip 2. set blending mode to layer (found in the display tab) 3. adjust alpha to what's needed edn alt method to 22:20 1. make sure symbol is a graphic and has it's looping property set to "single frame" on all instances 2. double click on symbol to edit it 3. press f6 and make the needed changes on the new frame 4. exit out of edit mode 5. using the "edit multiple frames" option on the timeline, adjust the markers to the region that needs to be corrected 6*. make sure all other layers except the one you're fixing are locked and press ctrl+a (select all) 7. your properties tab should now be of the properties of the needed symbol. under the "looping" property change the "first" option to "2" or whichever frame inside the symbol you made the changes on edn - *step 6 assumes that the symbol that needs to be fixed is on its own dedicated layer. if there happens to be more than 1 symbol that doesn't need to be fixed within its layer, then instead of doing ctrl+a, you would multi-select only the needed symbol. i recommend using the lasso tool for this. - before animating or at the frame of where the symbol is going to be changed, duplicate the symbol (not copy and paste, the option you get when you right click it) and do the steps. this helps prevent any accidental changes to the original sprite and gives you a "master" symbol for all the changes. other tips =in addtion to gotoAndPlay() you can make button symbols and attach it in your vcam symbol to go to different parts of your scene. also acts as a replay button for that specific part - attach this code to the button symbol on (release) { gotoAndPlay(###); } replace "###" with what frame you want to go to. if you the buttons are invisible in the swf, then there is a piece of code in the vcam that makes the whole symbol invisible in the swf. havent looked, but i think itll be easy to find. if you cant find it then just place the button symbols in the main scene making sure they're in the vcam's vision. =edit your keybinds/hotkeys not everything is binded and some can be inconvenient. find it under edit>keyboard shortcuts. click duplicate set and make your changes. some changes i've made swap symbol = ctrl+tab duplicate symbol = ctrl+shift+1 flip horizontal = ctrl+right flip vertical = ctrl+left lines to fill = ctrl+shift+x straighten = alt+right smooth = alt+left == very nais vid corner pics had me ROFLing!!!!!xd small q: how is cs6 inferior? heard that cc crashes more and is laggier compared to cs6.

Glad to see that shortcut for bullet casings. Still, animating zappy energy weapons seems like more fun and less tedium. Also, I have had that same complaint towards the end of the video for the longest time. About everyone animating the same kind of stuff. A lot of the same red sky, the same agents, the same weapon sprites & whatnot. Totally would want to see some more variety in settings. For a start, making one's own freaky sci-fi gun sprites is in my opinion one of those easy fun activities. Just look up some references from ur favorite games & go crazy.
