Dear sir , According to my understanding even the employer has contributed for defined contribution plan the employer can invest or pay contribution to other insurance or services providing company but he is not discharged from the liability to employee if the service provider defaults, the employer has to settle to employee and Employer can get claim from such company by any case or some other way. Mainly on leave encashment and gratuity and in case pf the liability is totally discharged. Please reply if any of my understanding is wrong Thank you

As per Ind AS 19, defined contribution plan means a plan where fixed contributions are paid and the employer has no further legal or constructive obligation to pay in case assets held are not sufficient. So in case after paying contributions if employer liability is not discharged then it will be classified as a defined benefit plan and not defined contribution plan.
