St. Louis' newest high-rise was built to sway instead of fall if an earthquake hits. It's that swaying that saved a log church during massive quakes in the 1800s.

Memphis is a major city that is right on the New Madrid Seismic Zone. It would probably look worse over there. Seismic waves on that side of the country travel extremely far. The magnitude 8 that happened 208-9 years ago rang church bells all the way over in Boston. I was astonished hearing about that.
