Non-ult point-and-click hard CC is just not okay. They have been phasing it out but poly is still there for some reason.

Arkdirfe it could be because it has to be chosen whether to use on an ally or an enemy and there's the chance to mis-click if your intended target is too close to your allies in the heat of battle.

Potential for mistakes is not a balancing point. Having to choose is also not an excuse unless a significant cooldown was involved.

Arkdirfe it is a pretty hefty cooldown in the early game and if you go more for a more ap build than cdr supportive items the cooldown doesn't change much in the late game. 10 seconds is a pretty long time in team fights so you usually only get one shot too hit the right or lose the fight for your team.
