I’m in dire need of some help Ksk… When I got to insert my ISO image, “skip unattended installation” is greyed out. And I can’t get my Ubuntu image to run. It brings me to the shell page and I have no idea what to do from there. I uninstalled VirtualBox and deleted all the files associated with to see if it would change and now I’m getting an error before I even get to the shell. Can you please help me out? I’m trying to learn Linux for a certification, so I can get a better job because I have a kid coming so every day I can’t study is a day wasted. I am on the new Mac Sequoia. Do you think my Mac OS has something to do with why I can’t get VirtualBox to work? And if so, do you have any alternatives that I could use to follow my studies. Please respond as soon as possible.

if things don't work for you on virtualbox, try using utm instead

I had the same issue, it was because the Ubuntu ISO image I downloaded was not arm64 architecture. Pay attention to the download link he used in the video, notice how it is for arm64. By default the newest images on the Ubuntu download are not.

UTM . It supports Hardware acceleration.

I tried using the LTS version (24.04.1) and it didn't work, I had to use 24.10 as he did in the video. Just a heads up for anyone if you try the LTS version.

Hi, I want to download a VHD file from my university, do I follow these steps but instead of creating a virtual hard drisk I just use an existing one? The file is VHD btw not vdi

I like your videos & those indeed are very helpful but a different opinion on this one, haven't entirely watched this one yet but wha da faq is the title dude? U literally wrote Ubuntu on Mac, Run Ubuntu on Apple Silicon using "VirtualBox"? really? I mean through virtual box that's not even an Arm Ubuntu, that's just the non-native(as it is on virtual box I thought you would be showing something like asahi linux for Ubuntu & stuff) one on Apple Silicon, LoL. :)

Virtual Box is Now ARM Compatible. Yes can run ubuntu ARM Desktop using VirtualBox On Apple Silicon Macs.
