The PPSch-41 is a Soviet submachine gun. The weapon developed by Georgi Semyonovich Shpagin was designed for single and continuous fire . The PPSch-41 uses the same 7.62×25mm TT bottleneck cartridges as the Tokarev pistol and the PPD-40 and PPS-43 submachine guns. The PPSch-41 consists of two main parts, the barrel and the system box, which - similar to the later M16 assault rifle - are held together by a hinge in the middle. The barrel shroud encloses the barrel and serves as hand protection. It has several cutouts that allow air to circulate and thus cool the barrel. The end of the barrel jacket is closed except for a hole for the projectile and serves as a compensator. The barrel ends just before the barrel casing; as it flows out, the powder gases press against the sloping end face from the inside, some of them escape upwards through the opening in front of the front sight and thereby push the muzzle downwards. The barrel can be removed and replaced.

The Thompson submachine gun (also known as the "Tommy gun", "Chicago typewriter", "Chicago piano", "trench sweeper", or "trench broom") is a blowback-operated, selective-fire submachine gun, invented by United States Army brigadier general John T. Thompson in 1918. It was originally designed to break the stalemate of trench warfare of World War I, but early models did not arrive in time for combat. The Thompson was widely adopted by the U.S. armed forces during World War II, and was also used extensively by other Allied troops during the war. Its main models were designated as the M1928A1, M1 and M1A1 during this time. More than 1.5 million Thompson submachine guns were produced during World War II. It is the first weapon to be labelled and marketed as a "submachine gun".

It was presented for official military trials in 1947, and, in 1948, the fixed-stock version was introduced into active service for selected units of the Soviet Army. In early 1949, the AK was officially accepted by the Soviet Armed Forces[9] and used by the majority of the member states of the Warsaw Pact. The model and its variants owe their global popularity to their reliability under harsh conditions, low production cost (compared to contemporary weapons), availability in virtually every geographic region, and ease of use. The AK has been manufactured in many countries, and has seen service with armed forces as well as irregular forces and insurgencies throughout the world. As of 2004, "of the estimated 500 million firearms worldwide, approximately 100 million belong to the Kalashnikov family, three-quarters of which are AK-47s".[4] The model is the basis for the development of many other types of individual, crew-served and specialized firearms.

sorry but there are soooo many errors in this. ima correct a few of em: 1, while it does have the same-ish internals like the ak47 or akm, it does not shoot the same bullets. the bullets that the svd/svds use are the 7.62x54mm(R). secondly, the svd is still being used today, and will most likely see combat in the future from today. Also, it was used/ in use by well, pretty much every Warsaw pact/current third world countries. Lastly, Yes, most US DMR rifles are based on the *M16/AR-15 platform, but then theres the M14/M21 EBR, which is overall, imo, the closest thing to the SVD in US service. Noting to my M16 statement, the AK is meant to be really reliable and robust; being able to shoot without a problem in like, subfreezing temps. On the other hand, the US M4* (correction; its the M4 not the m16) is more accurate, but is more expensive and needs to be taken care of often. I probably got shit wrong soooooo correct me if i did

The sa80, offically l85, is a british family of assault rifles chambered to 5.56x45mm. Used to replace the l1a1, or SLR, after the falklands. This weapon has been in use since mid 80s, first seeing combat in 90s, however the A1 was inefficient due to 'falling apart' or 'melting' on the user. Enso the A2 was develop these issues, so a mag release cover, better cocking handle, better materials ect made the A2 more useful, then the A3, making use for rails on the handguard to have mods such as foregrips.

The Pistole Parabellum or Parabellum-Pistole (Pistol Parabellum), commonly known as just the Luger or Luger P08,[11] is a toggle-locked recoil-operated semi-automatic pistol. The Luger was produced in several models and by several nations from 1898 to 1949. Luger pistol Luger IMG 6768-retouched.jpg Wehrmacht P08 ordnance model (Collection Paul Regnier, Lausanne, Switzerland) Type Semi-automatic pistol Place of origin German Empire Service history. The design was first patented by Georg Luger. It was meant to be an improvement of the Borchardt C-93 pistol, and was initially produced as the Parabellum Automatic Pistol, Borchardt-Luger System by the German arms manufacturer Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken (DWM).[1] The first production model was known as the Modell 1900 Parabellum.[1] It was followed by the "Marinepistole 1904" for the Imperial German Navy. The Luger was officially adopted by the Swiss military in 1900, the Imperial German Navy in 1906 and the German Army in 1908. The Luger was the standard service pistol of Switzerland, Portugal, the Netherlands, Brazil, Bolivia, and Bulgaria. It was widely used in other countries as a military service pistol and by police forces.[12] In the German Army service, it was adopted in a slightly modified form as the Pistole Modell 1908 (Pistole 08) in caliber 9×19mm Parabellum.[1] The Model 08 was eventually succeeded by the Walther P38. The Luger is well known for its wide use by Germany during World War I and World War II, along with the interwar Weimar Republic and the postwar East German Volkspolizei. The name Parabellum, which also featured in DWM's telegraphic address, comes from the Latin phrase, Si vis pacem, para bellum "If you wish for peace, prepare for war."[13][14]

Thompson in 1918. It was originally designed to break the stalemate of trench warfare of World War I, although early models did not arrive in time for actual combat. The Thompson saw early use by the United States Marine Corps during the Banana Wars,[29] the United States Postal Inspection Service, the Irish Republican Army, the Republic of China, and the FBI following the Kansas City Massacre. The weapon was also sold to the general public. Because it could be obtained so easily, the Thompson became notorious during the Prohibition era as the signature weapon of various organized crime syndicates in the United States in the 1920s. It was a common sight in the media at the time, and was used by both law enforcement officers and criminals.[30] The Thompson was widely adopted by the U.S. armed forces during World War II, and was also used extensively by other Allied troops during the war. Its main models were designated as the M1928A1, M1 and M1A1 during this time. More than 1.5 million Thompson submachine guns were produced during World War II.[31] It is the first weapon to be labelled and marketed as a "submachine gun".[32] The original selective-fire Thompson variants are no longer produced, although numerous semi-automatic civilian versions are still being produced by the manufacturer Auto-Ordnance. These models retain a similar appearance to the original models, but have various modifications in order to comply with US firearm laws.
