Fantastic playing. I'm watching that little lady for a few years now. Amazing how her playing is getting better and better. I hope, she will also use a flugelhorn in the future, like Chuck does. Her sound will have more variations. To the orchestra: This piece would sound "fatter" 😉, if some brass instruments where added to the woodwinds. But that doesn't make your playing less beautiful. The conductor is a talented saxophonist. He majored in classical saxophone and conducts several ensembles.

@@oceancorea I see, thanks for the update. This is the first time (I think,,, 🤔) that I have seen an ensemble of Saxophonists! They sounded great, but needed Dakyung's trumpet to make things complete.

Wow, Dakyung got so tall, she's wearing flat shoes, right?😊 She's such an elegant player, always has been really. I think she needs to learn to project her sound a little more when playing with a large ensemble (let alone an orchestra); some of her jazz subtleties, like when she drops the sound on running notes, get swallowed with a larger group. It's a little different mind set (way of thinking.) Brava to her as always, what a talent!

I feel the importance of breathing capacity when playing a wind instrument. I am sure that when Dakyung grows a little bigger, she will be able to produce a richer sound.

@ And that's why it's amazing she had the air to blow a trumpet at all at such a young age! Yes I'm sure she will grow stronger. But maybe it's also her temperament... she has no desire to to show off, or 'blast' her instrument - which is what makes her playing so wonderful. Winton Marsalis even noticed it the first time he heard her, said she had 'humility' - what an extraordinary comment to make about a 9-year-old! 'Sincerity', one could also call it.

I agree with what you said. There are explosive trumpets like Freddie Hubbard, but there are also restrained trumpets like Chet Baker. I hope she finds her own identity as she grows up.
