You somehow managed to explain the role of the B-29 in the Japanese nuclear bombings better than my history teacher
@raichu0479 Жыл бұрын
That’s because you’re history teacher didn’t tell you it was a B-29. Too interesting for school
@brandonfurr7080 Жыл бұрын
Because history teaches dont have time to focus on things like this. They need the big picture and it's overall effects and to get you to understand them. Most of the time they focus on the politics and effects of a war than the actual fighting, because it's the result that matters from a historical standpoint.

Actually, the Tu-4 is a much more interesting story than that. See, we actually landed a couple of them in Russia (due to mechanical or range issues I forget) during a bombing raid on Japan. Even though they were our allies and we had given them many planes and things throughout the course of the war, they knew they weren't getting our best stuff, and we weren't gonna let them have B-29s. Also, Russia had an agreement with Japan that they wouldn't get involved in the Pacific. So logically, they used that agreement with Japan as an excuse not to return the planes. They only returned the crews. By the time they returned them, one had been fully disassembled and had every little piece copied before being reassembled to return it to us. So the Tu-4 is an exact replica that was reverse engineered from a functional B-29.

Time to explain what happened in the “timeline” at 0:35 1. Pearl Harbor is struck by Japan, and ships like the Arizona are sunk by torpedoes and bombs 2. B-17s and other bombers like the B-24 were originally used to bomb the industrial plants in enemy territory, then came the B-29 3. Japan is set as the main target for the b29 4. Many b29s take off to carpet bomb the factories 5. August 1945, Enola Gay and Boxcar, two B-29s, took off to nuke Hiroshima and Nagasaki

The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is - whichever is greater - it obtains a difference or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position that it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is is now the position that it wasn't, and if follows that the position that it was is now the position that it isn't. In the event that the position that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation. The variation being the difference between where the missile is and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was. The missile guidance computer scenario works as follows: Because a variation has modified some of the information that the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it know where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice versa. And by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.
