The memories. Love how everyone was cool with broadcasting their home address on TV.

A Bert Claster Production. Claster licensed the show's concept and elements to many local stations, who then produced their own versions. He and his wife also created "Romper Room", and licensed it the same way.

The closing animation and music was used in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus circa 1972-74, when a new animation but same music was used. I’d love to get a clean copy of both of those.

It was a locally franchised show, which was a Bert Claster production just like Romper Room. Similar to PM/Evening Magazine. Started in Baltimore as Duckpins and Dollars, then was franchised all over the country, the first Bowling for Dollars Washington, DC version was on WDCA 20 hosted by Don Scott from a Bowl America in Arlington, VA or Brunswick River Bowl in Bethesda. The second one was on WTTG Channel 5, hosted by Johnny Holiday from also produced at River Bowl.

@@rockvilleravenYep, this show varied from market to market, depending on how it was presented (host, location, etc.)

@@ChristopherSobieniak There were two versions in the Washington, DC area, first one was on WDCA Channel 20 from either a Bowl America in Northern Virginia, later Brunswick River Bowl in Bethesda, MD hosted by Don Scott and the second was on WTTG Channel 5 from the same River Bowl hosted by Johnny Holiday, both were tenpins. Holiday is now the radio voice of Maryland Terrapins Men’s Basketball and Football.

Good god, these approaches are interesting to say the least. They all hold the ball strangely in their set stance, especially the second person. And then when he stated his approach bringing the ball above his head like a softball pitcher, I was shocked the ball didn't go three lanes to the left. I understand that the game wasn't nearly as evolved, but what were these people thinking? They consider themselves bowlers???
