KTL E-coating a Porsche 911 restored classic car body

KTL E-coat (cathodic dip coating) is a surface protection system most commonly used in the car industry and also in the field of classic car restoration.

KTL painting process is also known as E-coating, cataphoretic coating or cathodic dip painting, cathodic dip coating (CDC). KTL is currently the most advanced corrosion protection process for preventing corrosion of metal parts on vintage cars.
After classic car body rust repair, sandblasting is an often used method to remove rust. The old paint also need to remove. Sandblasting is also the most common method for this operation, because there are few places where it is possible to remove the paint chemically.
Very important, e-coat paint can be done only on a completely clean surface, because this technology can only paint on conductive surfaces.
The best way to prevent classic car rust is e-coating process (elektro-coating process).
Not just because cataphoretic paint is extremely resistant to chemicals, shocks, scratches and other mechanical effects, but also because the formation of the coating is generated by direct current practically on the entire surface of the part, including edges, covered, difficulty accessible locations, as well as in cavities, a uniform layer of paint is formed during the KTL painting process.
During the surface treatment, the parts pass through a line of 12 tanks. For high surface protection it also includes proper surface treatment. Spray degreasing using a high-performance pump in the first tank with a 45-50 °C, continuously controlled aqueous degreasing fluid, which also performs strong mechanical cleaning (Residual dust from shot blasting and sand blasting can be perfectly removed from the roughened surface). After spray degreasing, the second step in the process, the component is placed in a dipping degreasing bath, where the 60 °C, also water-based, strong degreasing liquid removes any remaining greasy soils.
After degreasing, there are two water rinsing tanks, and the porsche 911 car body dip into the activating bath and then in the zinc phosphate bath. This creates a microcrystalline zinc phosphate coating on the surface of the parts, which greatly improves the paint adhesion and thus further increases corrosion protection. In the KTL surface treatment, the components are immersed in 3 deionized water rinses.
After rinsing, the restored classic car body is put in a special water-based, two-component paint, and electric current on the metal surfaces attract the cataphoretic paint and are given a strong corrosion-resistant primer coating also on the edges and on hard-to-reach, invisible (covered, internal hollow) surfaces. After the cataphoresis process, the porsche vintage car body is placed in two rinsing tanks that remove the paint droplets from a surface that has not adhered to the surface due to electric current.
This is one of the best classic car rustproofing method after restoration.
This type of corrosion protection protects the classic car that has been restored with many work hours from rusting.

Please try to find on the web e-coating, cathodic dip coating or cathodic dip paintig company.. i don't know better solution unfortunately. In generally, it is quite difficult to find a large tank painting plant, because many places have small sizes.
