The awful celebration of an unachievable beauty standards, the horrendous promotion of vanity and superficiality and neglect of cyber bullying, the mental health has been completely overlooked for years. From my xp; to anyone who's ever been a victim of hate / violence because of their appearance, gender, orientation, race: DO NOT ever let a hateful notion 'there's something wrong with me' sink in. Trust me, it's a recipe for self hatred and compulsive anxieties later on. When we suffer and we need a break, it's only natural to think: maybe if I wasn't 'different', if I was 'normal' I would be accepted. No, haters will always find something else to prey upon. I've always had kinda androgynous look, which was a fuel for bullies when I was growing up. I embraced it, used it to my advantage in my acting / modeling career, I was almost the face of Leon in these new Resident Evil games :)

Reporting anything won't matter. All that matters are those with coin, connections, clout, crews, computer code, control, communities, and opportunities. If you don't have those, you'll remain invisible and ignored.

I’m mainly on KZbin but I’m starting to use it less since it takes one video I watched out of boredom and tries to place me in a box with an entire demographic that I completely disagree with and hate with a burning passion.

Gen X & Gen Y invented social media, so yeah, it's been one very crazy long journey.... Xanga, LiveJournal, MySpace, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, KZbin, all unique ways to express oneself. The Emo Era of Social Media: Xanga, LiveJournal, and MySpace I"d say was the best Era of social media. Not only could we express what was on our mind, but it was how we connected with our friends, played our favorite music, showcase our mutual music interests, plan events, and promote local bands. KZbin was still experimental and didn't really come into its own until a few years shy of 2010. Zuckerberg was still in college, waiting and ready to throw his creative friends under the bus and basically rip off Tom Anderson's MySpace invention and eventually buying him out. The newer generation just rely on discord than other platforms mostly, so I predict that if Social media collapses, only Instagram, KZbin, and Dischord would survive 🤷‍♂️

Never trusted nor liked FB and still dont. Twitter, never had an account. Instagram, TT and the others bore me. The only one i use a lot is KZbin and then it is mostly content (documentaries) or educational (other).

i think it might be dying only for some older adults that actually understand how social media apps use certain things to keep them constantly using the apps; younger generations that don't know or care will keep it from dying completely
