Mario, I just finished the stage 3 delete, Rotwiller air box replacement and the fuel filter rebuild on my 2016 Super Adventure. The bike fired up first time and is running fine. I absolutely could not have done the work without your videos!!! Thanks so much for posting them.

Thanks man! Can't promise 2 week every week but think I have something like 7 more already scheduled, 4 shot, and another 3 or 4 to get shot over the coming weeks; not counting all the BITG videos I'll be shooting soon.

The rear throttle body is a bit tougher as you can't see as well but honestly, it was a whole lot easier than it looks.

OMG I'm doing the stage 3 install on my 2016 Super Adventure. Just let me say that the nipple on the front cylendar throttle body is IMPOSSIBLE to get to. I can barely see it much less get the new hose on it. Back to the frustration again this morning. 🤣

Love watching your „back in the garage today“ videos even though I have no intention to install this kit any time soon 😉 do you know if this will have any impact on the emissions? My understanding is that this just burns excess fuel from the vent lines. The air filter upgrade and a different fuel would have an impact on emissions I would think. We have to her our bikes checked for emissions every 2 years in Germany which makes such modifications a bit risky as we the bike may no longer pass the test. Somehow I got way with it on a 2006 Harley with open air filter and modified fuel map but i am not sure this would work with modern bikes. Thank you- Oliver
@2WR3 жыл бұрын
Oliver, yes they do have an impact on the emissions. The SAS along with the evap canister (and arguable the O2 sensors) make up the entire emissions system on the bike. "Technically" this is only legal in the US for competition and off-road purposes but in most (if not all) jurisdictions motorcycles are exempt from annual emissions testing. The new airbox will allow the bike to intake more air which can push more fuel (aka more power) while the fuel dongles we installed override the ECU to provide a richer air/fuel mixture. I can't say for sure if it these modifications would lead to a failure of the emissions test in your country but I do know it will emit more emissions that the stock setup.

@@2WRI got my Arrow decat on & SAS. While I had the SAS on it gave me more flames & pops. With it blocked off, no more pops of flames! I’m debating putting it back on 🤣 what is the point in doing the SAS? Does it give us anymore performance or is it just to make it look cleaner?

For such tuning is not necessary to buy expensive Rottweiler kit. My mechanic did the same SAS tuning by himself. He cut 2 plates from 2mm flat aluminium sheet (like these black plates), took off original tubes and to avoid any errors, without dongle connection, he just simply kept solenoid connected to the wiring (now it technically works, but does nothing, because no tubes are connected to it).
@2WR3 жыл бұрын
True. You can also buy inexpensive block off plates from eBay. It's also possible to make your own dongles and save even more money. That said, I don't understand keeping the solenoid connected especially if you're talking about the one over the front cylinder as it's just something else to work around or move out of the way when you need to work on things.
@2WR3 жыл бұрын
Would be interested to know how much you paid the mechanic for the work
@MAGIKru3 жыл бұрын
I live in Moldova, and here working hour cost much cheaper than in US. Valves check + Oil change + Tires change + SAS removal cost to me about 125 $. We kept solenoid due to we had no such connector to put resistor inside. I think it will not add some difficult to access front cylinder, because it is connected using only soft wires, but not hard tubes. For me it is not critical because he will be working on maintain of my Super Adventure, but not me;)

I have a 2015 rc8r and I just installed stage 2 kit and I'm stuck on 1 part. There was a line on left side of tank that ran to ground and on right side there's a line from gas tank to canister. What do I do with that line ?

Perhaps at some point but it's a pretty easy job. Remove the small screw in the front corner of the signal housing, carefully remove the turn signal glass (tab opposite the screw), remove old bulb, press in new bulb while turning clockwise, reassemble.

Just picked up a 2015 1190 with only 700 miles on it.... looking to the stage 3 intake system and the SAS Stage 3 delete in the near future. Whats your option on the stock air box setup? Should i go ahead and swap it out right away or is it decent enough for dusty off road conditions ?

The stock air filter works fine but if you're going to be riding in dusty conditions it needs to be checked/changed more often than the recommended interval.

@@2WR last question… lol Have you deleted the cat. Seen a video where a guy takes the stock system off, cuts a square, scrapes out the honeycomb and welds it closed. Says it also reduced heat coming off the pipes. What are your thoughts on that?

You make it look easy ! Lol I have a question for you and Brian, I am thinking of adding a skid plate on my 18 1290 SAR any brand suggestions?
@TheBoyers3 жыл бұрын
I’ve really enjoyed the Black Dog Cycle Works. I like that it relocated the kick stand outside the side of the engine. With that though, it added an additional Complexity for install. I personally like the look and the coverage it has. Mario probably has a different opinion based on his experience.
@2WR3 жыл бұрын
KTM PP aluminum skid plate. The BDCW is overkill and the kick stand relocation is a solution to a problem for 99% of people doesn’t exist…but will now have a problem because the kick stand kill switch is disabled with the relocation.
