I did end up ordering pretty much everything from the power parts catalog available for this bike in 2018 On the topic of lights.. With the factory available driving lights {that have a plug ready behind the headlight} & then once adjusted & on high beams.. = yea... Probably the best night riding setup from a single dealer., this bike is awesome at night., extra lights become activated the more you lean into the corners

Beware of the fuel boiling in the tank.. yes this is real, happened to me & you can find a video on KZbin of this happening Don't open the cap until 5 minutes if you hear gremlins in the fuel tank after you've been ripping around town without much air traveling through the radiator.. you can literally feel it with a bare hand on the black plastic on the lower side, it'll feel like rice cooking= don't open until the bubbles stop.. otherwise it'll interact with atmosphere in some aorta vapor pressure boiling Only happend once after a very hard riding session I did notice the drain tubes needed to be be cleared immediately in this instance, the charcoal filter under the seat was hot & full of hot gas {if there was ever a fire hazard this was it almost text book)

Yea I did see a bunch of MSI failure & fuel pump failure warnings { I did end up having to replace the fuel pump.. Couple other warnings also.. I'd also heard about these KTM electrical gremlins & well yea we've been hundreds of miles into the bush & the bike always got us home.. I'm pretty sure its milage calculator is pretty accurate cause of a few near out of fuel situations & when we finally made it to a gas station we really were at nearly empty as the bike suggested, like on vapors per-say & it will count down until 5kms remaining so I guess 3 miles & pretty much bang on, it'll give you 3 different warnings as your approaching empty

Final comment... Go over every bolt with wd40 & quetips after a wash I've done this once a year I've also found that everything needs to be tightened up once & a while from the vibrations {even though there not harsh vibs, still needs to be done once a year

I've got the Acro exhaust & its almost as loud., but less on a long 8hr day so a balance I suppose for the intended usage I've never had a problem with law enforcement, they all love the bike & I've actually been waived through in an instance when they were collecting sports bikes So its an undercover bike of sorts.? I dunno., basically a sports bike twin right.? But nobody knows this is the case If you read all the options Rottweiler performance is offering they are able to bring it back to Super Duke power levels with slightly better overall performance We ended up with the split seats heated ergo options {front & rear} & it does raise the seats heights on both seats {you probably didn't notice that yes the rear is available for a heating element & the wiring is already in place for this, but it'll have to be activated within the deep menus once installed, the passenger actually gets there own 2 position switch while the driver has a 3 position option { truth.. I only use the heated seat when its approaching freezing cause the bike is warm at all times.. but I use the heated grips at night & in the winter often I absolutely know 4sure how many kilometers this bike can do on a full tank of gas= 340 kms, so whatever that works out to in miles This is based on 2up fully loaded traveling I can totally get less fuel economy when riding by myself with the luggage boxes empty {except for tire repair tools} but this isn't that often & I suppose I've outgrown the rush a smidgen, my wheelies are only 45 degrees & I probably only do this a few times a year., you are 4 sure riding harder than I do Then we went for a GIVI 7706 ST front windscreen & Puig side deflectors = this made a pretty decent Canadian winter setup, actually rode through Whistler on new year's day 2020 at zero degrees celsius & Now after the vid.. we're old.. lol 😆 just like that.. {yea that's a bizarre statement, but its true

I agree with everything you have mentioned around this bike { certainly enough grunt I haven't gotten board of it since new in 2018 } I can share some info from my account { Vancouver BC, Sea to Sky corridor Yea it gets hot 🔥 I actually took the rear header off & sent it to be ceramic coated inside & out after the 2nd summer, apparently Rottweiler performance has a remapping solution so its not running soo lean & hot but I haven't that yet, although I think about it even summer I've got 44,000 kms on it so far, & sometimes I changed the oil at 5 or 7 thousand kms instead of the 10,000 just because I'm always suspicious of the heat generated Next would be yea, I've played around a bunch with different suspension settings & preload as well a many different tires over the years on this bike {yes that speed wobble can be adjusted away} of course I've always found it prefers to have a full tank up front for weight distribution = suppose it's true we all can get used to any settings myself on the clickers I'm running full preload & what's labeled as standard on inside left placard sticker, I changed the rear springs to the one from the 1190 as its the optional upgrade {same length, 40 lbs extra preload} if I was on the stock spring it would be at 6 turns in from all the way out in a solo rider configuration Using the front fork air bleeders is huge.. {done with the front wheel off the ground of course} I ended up buying those screw in motion-pro {blue in color} push button bleeders just to make it quick & tool les, can definitely re-set the damping after two hours of hard logging road chatter I've noticed it really likes to have the chain tensioned to its tight end of the measurements suggested Great for 2up camping with the girlfriend {thousands of kilometers done like this, also have the top box that matches your boxes, same boxes as yours Currently running Motoz tractionator GPS rear & Dunlop trailmax mission front {I find I can really rail corners with this setup & its still sorta ok on the logging roads as long as its not muddy {terrible on grass though} although I believe I'm going to get around 15,000 kms of wear & they'll expire together The fuel tank lock stopped working & I don't know when that happened but I ended up just being unlocked all the time so that we fine, The fuel pump gave up teh ghost at 30,000 kms as well as the slave clutch cylinder, replacement parts from rottweiler performance & haven't had a problem since, Oberon clutch is even a lighter pull & I believe the fuel pump is quieter than the OEM unit so that's about the worst issues for myself Have had a few flat tires off the beaten path, once had to re-plug the rear with 3 plugs side by side & re do this scenario 15 times to get back but it worked, love that tire pressure monitoring system when you get out on the highway & you know its just a matter of time before the plugs get spit out from heat & pressure Since you can re arrange the dashboard & how many different things listed {under favorites ect in the settings} I've ended up with the following labels visible = Trip 1 = Fuel economy {liters per hun = Odometer = Battery = Oil temperature = Tire pressure front = Tire pressure rear = Fuel range (Seems to provide the best behind the scenes info this way) If you hover over the item "preferences" & then instead of pressing set instead press the up & down buttons at the same time you'll enter the secret menu, to reset oil etc I did once end up with some bad gas &; the it was running sorta rough & the engine light came on, but once I'd burn through it, after 3 starts from cold with the engine off & some time elapsed & some mileage it did turn the engine light off itself once it recognized there wasn't really an issue, I thought that was pretty good {especially from KTM Replaced the chain & sprockets at 30,000 kms = I went up 2 teeth on the rear sprocket { bikes fast enough & I wanted better low speed control, it'll tractor away from a stop on just idle if I let out the clutch semi slow {2up fully loaded with camp gear, 1054 lbs all up full tank of gas I am 6'-3" & yes, not one of my friends is comfortable to try it & there's been a couple instances I wished I was taller, certainly one of the tallest bikes out there, {35.5" seat} we were next some goldwings downtown Van the other day & its very noticeable how much smaller they look when you're right next to a group of them = most definitely looking down into cars & SUV watching everyone playing with their phones I came the way of the dirt bike as a teenager, 250/450 then 650 & I totally agree that its kinda the closest ADV to dirt bike geometry, or less that it does just feel like & handle like a huge overweight bush pig- that's not short on power.. First adventure bike for myself, first time playing with a quick shifter, first time with cruise control & for multi day trips yea its grown on me 4sure I would buy this bike again 👍

I should probably mention.. when we ended up riding through snow ❄️ & ice conditions I just put the bike in rain mode & it absolutely kept us safe, obviously in addition I was taking it easy But yes., on TKC80 tires in rain mode through the snow while it had just started falling an hour previously 2up & it wasn't terrifying, it was ok
@emerymahylis9447 ай бұрын
Motoz traction GPS rear {38 psi) Dunlop trail max mission front {34 psi) This allows serious payment ripping & wear longevity & still okay on a logging road as long as it's not raining I did find it took about 1500 kms for the harder rubber to adjust to its application.? Cannot think of any time it took this long to break in a set of rubber but these are extremely hard wearing boots that should last 15/18 thousand kms

Couple other tidbits around this bike; = Of the handful of drain tubes on the left side up near the crash bars engine attachment there will be one bigger rubber tube with a plastic plug {tkc 80 California model sold everywhere throughout North America even Canada has this} & that plug will need to be removed from time to time if you haven't gotten stage 3 Rottweiler delete kit = if the tank is over filled (meaning within 2" of the actual top) it'll slosh into the charcoal canister & cause issues, if consitant wheelies.? It'll slosh the fuel & ends up in that specific drain tube Its actually my belief.. that the California emissions stuff Fks up the bike cause they don't have that charcoal system in Austria where the bike is made So everything Rottweiler performance has documented on the subject is completely legitimate., even the possibility that I burnt out the OEM fuel pump by not fixing or learning more about this issue in the beginning Alot easier to just say; "yea we've got bad fuel pumps" than it is to say; "don't let us sell this bike in north america.." I sorta think this is the situation with KTM getting into the continent for sale Its all simple little fixes in the greater scheme of things

Double the crash bars is half the chance you check the air filter..? I went through this... Lol 😅

If you buy the top box through a KTM dealer they can offer you the complete lock set & this will include all locks being keyed the same So now you'll have locks for both your side boxes {2 per box} then the top box has a lock that keeps it on the top rack & the box itself.. 6 locks in total, all the same key 🔐

The fastest I ate a rear tire was in 2018 shortly after I'd gotten the bike as a 40th birthday present for myself 4000 kms This was not economically viable in my opinion so I had to start a road of "testing & evaluation" Kile Bradshaw videos for some ideas Tried some, some other situations where I'm riding 2up with the wife 3/4 of the time, she doesn't like to not be included, sorta funny situation cause she's got a Ruckus & Vespa GTS 300 herself, but doesn't want to be left out on the adventure rides

I can safely say that I don't get anymore Red/yellow warnings on the dash after 6 yrs of ownership I can sorta predict what's about to happen just by the sounds, (I need to drain that big tube cause it's full of fuel & affecting a measurement from a different sensor etc) Rottweiler performance has a decent write-up on this bike & I'm thinking everything they've mentioned is relevant I think there's a learning curve for the KTM gremlins { & this is mostly all because of the California emitions control import stuff etc etc)

My wife obviously likes the top box with back rest option I put my helmet in the top box She puts her helmet in the side & We put the rest in the other side box, like our jackets & gloves etc Ultimate date machine.. obviously park it before you start drinking

I suppose I have ended up writing a few bizarre situations around this bike & in additional complexity I'm not even in the USA, I'm in Canada right near Simon Fraser university in Burnaby BC Vancouver lower mainland Almost 100% of everything negative I've experienced in my ownership experience is related to the California emission control import regulations, this becomes the blanket for north america imports & they can be solved through Rottweiler performance accessories

Oh.. & the bike doesn't make any more power beyond 8K RPM ., I sorta short shift it a bit & I'm pretty sure I'm being easier on it & actually accelerating faster somehow
