Great plate in my opinion. I like the idea of showing how they look on the bike in reality. Some could be too big, but in your case I think that all just fit on it. You are quite a variety of bags as I saw. :) Cool. Thanks for sharing it Frank. You are the one. Keep going. Cheers.

Hello Gregor, the stock one is narrow, so this looked large to me at first, but then when I saw that it could hold any bag I wone, plus my top case, I was glad its as large a base as it is. - Frank

Great rack indeed, I have one also aluminium made so light; what I’d like to emphasize is your mention of using a 50 l. duffel on the rear. The Adventure R is already a high bike and adding a full or heavy duffel won’t help bike’s balance especially if your on off-road. That’s why side racks and cases are much better and helping you with the balance and protection if you falle. That’s of course my opinion. Ride safe.

@@OneOldManRiding Nope, I havent land on it. I was just jumping with the topcase mounted on it :-D The mounting points are not realy for jumping. It stress the rack a lot as there is quite leverage. So honestly speaking, I was abusing it :-D But on the other hand, you know it doesnt last long when properly tested :-D

Good video Frank, professionally done. I like the bike much better without the grab bars too, but if you're picking up the bike there is never enough grab spots. Very nice rack, I like all the extra mounting points. The rack on the Vstrom needs one but NICECNC didn't show any for it, only the premium bikes Like KTM and T700's.

Hello Dave, you are 100% correct about the usability of the grab handles. Unfortunately, the luggage does not really sit well on the bike with them. In a pinch, I could probably use the lip of the rack to lift. It's bolted into the same mounts as the grab handles would be. I cannot do the reverse lift, my shattered knee is not really up to it, I am a push or handlebar lifter. - Frank

Hello Dutch, I hope the pegs arw working for you. I injured some tendons years ago. Every now a d then I aggravate them. So then I out the bravce on for a day or two. It keeps my wrist flat so I do not bend it and bother them. - Frank

Hello.A bit off topic. What tires are you running on the 790R? My brother and I are going to ride the puppy dog route, the tomato trail, and then the hampster trail back up to Canada. Looking at switching out my OEM Mitas E07....Was looking at E09 or maybe VeeMoto Hitman 55..... Any input would be appreciated. Cheers from downtown Canada

Hello glx, I am running a Trailmax Mission on the front, plenty for what I rid eon this bike, and a Motox Tractionator on the rear. Similar traction to a Mitas E07+. I am leaving for Maine on the 13th, and into Nova Scotia on the 14th of August. I am going to rush up to Canada, no scenic route like you are taking. - Frank

I got one in today and the bolts that come with the racki believe H5 alen, seem to strip before i torque them to 25nm as per ktm manual for the oem bolts. Did yours do the same? Thx

Hello Ray, I did NOT torque them down. I have had more than one bolt strip, and more than one aftermarket bolt snap foing to the OEM spec on bikes. So, I do the "good enough" with Loctite route. - Frank

@@OneOldManRiding Hello Frank! Now I can answer my question myself. So, a while ago, I got the aforementioned cheaper Chinese 4.3mm plate. After installation, it flexed fairly easily by hand. Also, the mounts on the plate were not leveled (unlike on the NICECNC plate), and therefore, the plate was installed at a small angle. I imagine for small bags, such a plate would be enough. Anyway, I didn't like the feel of it and purchased the NICECNC plate. The new plate is much sturdier and offers a much nicer installation. I would recommend the NICECNC plate and wouldn't recommend getting cheaper plates.

I have 2 questions to ask you: the first is that it seems to me that the front slots are unusable if the plate is mounted with the handles. The second question: I wanted to know if the bag clips pass through all the slots, because with my current Givi plate I always have to remove the buckles from the clips to make them pass through the slots of the plate and then reassemble them and it's a hassle.

Hello Paolo, yes the front ones are blocked with the handles. My clips worked, but there is no way to tell if all bags would. - Frank
