The ability to change the engine power characteristics with the Connectivity Unit Offroad is very cool!

@ yeah I want it for the reason you mentioned. 250 power in the woods, and if I happen to go on track or street, then I can amp up the power for that. Pretty awesome to think you can do that, plus customize the maps

That was a very detailed and useful video review! Looks like the CUO would be an important addition. Many 350 riders in my area complain about flame outs/stalling and overheating so they add a fan and rekluse or switch back to the 300. With the CUO do you feel this 350 can match the 300 in slower tech trail? thank you!
@mxengineer16 ай бұрын
For my skill and riding the KTM 350SXF/XCF cannot match a 300 2-stroke in slow technical trail riding. The KTM/Husky/Gas Gas 350's seem to work well for the top pro riders in Endurocross!

When you first plug it in, does the unit detect where the stock map settings are? Or does it basically wipe the stock map and you have to set something up from scratch?
@MXJEFF946 ай бұрын
It has everything at stock settings (3).
@mxengineer16 ай бұрын
@@MXJEFF94 Yes everything starts at the mid point #3 on the slider scale (1 to 5). You then pick the track type (Sand/Gravel/Hardpack) and Dry or Wet and that sets a base power curve map. Then in the Advance settings you can change the Throttle Response, Engine Braking, Traction Control levels along with Shift Assist levels and Launch Control parameters. I like minimizing engine braking on all the maps I make - frees up the bike and suspension and makes it feel lighter in motion.
@platin21486 ай бұрын
All of these settings are just offsets currently. So your setting is relative. I suspect that the parameters are changed via Stored file on the ECU as such if you reset they should change back to normal.

Did you have to pay for the CU? Doesn't the SXF's come with it? I ride mine in the green map with traction control on because in the SW we have no traction unless it rains. BTW, it's the best motor out there IMO. That muff pipe combo seems pretty quiet. As you know stock is loud.
@MXJEFF946 ай бұрын
You have to pay $250 for the unit. The CUO is free, but LIT pro (which is worth it) is $70 a year on the APP store. The 24.5 FE came with it, but not the standard SXF models
@mxengineer16 ай бұрын
As MXJEFF94 noted the Connectivity Unit Offroad (CUO) came stock on the 24.5 Factory Edition models. The complete kit is $250 including the fender with the mount space for the GPS unit (if you want to use LITPRO). You can get just the CUO for $190 and that mounts on the fork leg. The KTM Connect app is free to download but a years subscription to LITPRO for the lap analysis capability is $70. I have not used the LITPRO capability yet but the CUO unit by itself if very helpful for engine character tuning. The Akrapovic full exhaust is lighter, quieter, has a spark arrester, and performs great. It is also expensive. The slip on Akrapovic is similar in performance and more reasonably priced. I really like the 24/25 350 engine!

@@pipefitterdirtbikerider3013 Are you running a CUO or just the stock ECU? Also what model are you talking about? Usually the peak power will be similar/same in White or Green maps but you may notice the throttle response low to mid might be a little sharper and the engine RPM build might be a little quicker in the Green map on most KTM models.

Any chance you can elaborate on if this new CUO has any impact on flame outs? I have a ‘24 FX 350 and sometimes the smallest use of the rear brake can cause an easy flame out. I’m debating fly wheel weight or this new CUO. Thanks
@mxengineer16 ай бұрын
Based on my CUO experience so far I don't think there is any change in flame out character using the CUO. I have not ridden difficult tight trails yet on my '25 350XCF. I will make a video comparing the "250F" map with the stock Green map on some tight trails and see if there is any difference in flame out.
@platin21486 ай бұрын
@@mxengineer1 Well for full adjustments it definitely allows one to add more flame out, but there are ranges which aren't yet pssobile to set that make it run with less flame out. Just a map to change.

I have tried the CUO on the 250SXF Factory Edition and reducing engine braking is an improvement. There is also a touch more throttle response depending on the map and setting in the CUO. Just get the CUO for $190 if you do not use LITPRO feature.

Yes - Traction Control has to be activated by pushing the TC button (and the TC light is on). The level of Traction Control is tunable in the app (#3 is stock level and you can go to #1 minimum up to #5 maximum. Set to #5 TC can slow the initial throttle response.

@mxengineer16 ай бұрын
That is a great question! I need to try that soon! I think Sand/Dry looks to be the most aggressive power curve option then turn throttle response up to #5 and go back and forth between the maps to see if one feels a little more aggressive. My guess is turning up the throttle response to #5 should give a little quick engine RPM build on the CUO map compared to the stock Green map.
