I'm grieving right now with compassion for the family, what he meant to me as a Christian in my own personal growth, & the meaningfulness of this speech because of this great transcendent speech that was a Kairos "for such a time as this" moment. Like a song from the Duduk, this speech he made is deep meaningful, rich, and carrys both beauty and sorrow. For him and those who lost their lives as Christians we know they are all past the grief and in great joy with the Lord. I can imagine the angels in Heaven announcing his entry as noteworthy because of the influence he had on Earth for God.

Of the time I have known of him, I have NEVER heard anyone mention anything negative about him as a minister, ie, money issues, women, not living out what he preached,etc. I believe in God, but hearing yet another tragic death of someone who God says He loves is bothering me. I know we all have to pass away, but why did this man and those other people have to die in such a horrific way?

He was a Great Man of God. A tremendous loss for the Body of Christ no doubt about it. We can only be grateful that his light shined in this world for a while. He impacted so many peoples lives with his teachings, vision, encouragement, leadership. How we die does not matter, how we live makes all the difference. All Jesus disciples died a horrible death. We are not any better then them, to expect a preferential treatment. The only thing that matters is were we go after we die. Myles and his wife Ruth are back home with our Lord Jesus were they belong.

The question of why some suffer at death and others do not could be summed up in one statement: "God is sovereign." God allows some to suffer so that "the work of God might be displayed." In other words, God allows some to suffer to bring glory to His name and others not to suffer for the same reason. It is His sovereign will that determines each circumstance. Therefore, we can safely say that no suffering is without a purpose in the plan of God, even though we as finite humans may not see that purpose clearly. Those who have received God's salvation have turned from death to life (1 John 3:14), and the second death has no power over them (Revelation 20:6).
