KTTV Commercial Breaks (August 7, 1987)

Taken from We Love Lucy, a tribute special to I Love Lucy, on Fox O&O KTTV (channel 11) in Los Angeles. The special was hosted by Ann Jillian and aired classic segments from Lucy episodes.
This is what you were watching on the tube in Southern California 37 years to the date. Also, KTTV was rare for an indie station-turned-network affiliate in that they aired news at 8pm and at midnight, so as not to compete with the 10pm shows. KTLA of course, dominated 10pm.

Flash forward 37 years later, KTTV itself now airs news at 10pm.

It actually started in the fall that year. Although, when FOX had a big Sunday Night lineup in 1988, the news was on at 11pm on Sundays only until the following year.

2:09 Those Garfield mugs would've been the thing to get. Garfield and Peanuts had a chokehold on mid-to-late 80s holiday novelties.
