He sang beautifully and what else can be said!!! Now comparing him with anybody is not the requirement of time. Since the great maestro is no more with , there should at least someone for singing such ghazals. Akhtar Ali khan is a pure classical singer but he dealt in delivering this ghazals superbly. Wah!!!!

Akbar Ali is in a class of his own. Those who are trying to compare him to Mehdi Hassan is injustice to him. Mehdi Hassan sahab is a legend more than just due to his voice. His mastery of ghazal composition is evident by the fact that people are still singing these ghazals with the same composition. Coming back to Akbar Ali, this guy would have been a big deal in the olden days when there was still respect for true Eastern classical talent in the world or if he was born in India instead of Pakistan maybe he would have garner much bigger following. I will go as far as to say that he maybe the best voice of his generation in Eastern classical singing. I still hope he is better marketed and does some original work of his own to leave a lasting legacy.

No one and I mean no one can even come close to the artistry of Mehdi Hasan. His genius was that he didn’t need to add unnecessary harkats in his ghazals and the effect on the listener was just sublime. We won’t see that kind of artist ever again. May Allah grant him a high status in Jannat al Firdous Ameen

Nobody could match the legend and the maestro late Mehdi sahb. Among all those who attempted this ghazal, Akbar Ali definitely touched the true essence and soul of classical singing. Very well justified performance! 👍🏼
