My son and I started playing just before v1.2. I remember us being so excited for fishing coming in the next update. Here we are so many years later and still play together frequently. He is now 21 and I 48. We still enjoy creating new worlds with new themes a few times a year. He is the engineer in game and in RL. MC is one of the reasons he decided to pursue engineering. I, the Architect, just build the big crazy stuff and get yelled at for using all the mats lol. So for those of you out there that feel the nostalgia so strongly, please pass MC on to the next generation. Who knows what it may inspire. :)

I also remember my very first Minecraft world I created. The sand-dirt house on the beach. The glass blocks I added when I noticed I can create them. The painting I made and placed in there. The escape tunnels I added in case zombies break in. The panic where I realized too late that I should have closed them from the other side, seeing more zombies inside. I remember when I found out about the arrows. When I found a lone gravel island afar. I would literally swim on my own for 5 minutes to get there, and get stacks of gravel. Then spend a whole day digging through the gravel to get all the flints. I remember naming everything around. One mountain was the 'Llama Mt' because of its shape. Another mountain was the 'Three Trees Mt'. There were three big trees on top that I chopped down. Didn't notice the wood logs left on top in the leaves, so the leaves never disappeared. Hence the name. After three magical trees. I remember how scared of the underground I was. I would go for an adventure to get coal visible from the surface. I would never enter a cave. I remember building multiple dirt houses west and east. Just so I have somewhere to hide on my adventures. Each one had a door, a crafting table, and small 2x1 -window- hole. There were a bunch of red flowers next to one house, a lake next to another. I got to a huge gravel beach, and was so happy to see it. I never managed to dig it all up. And now it's all gone. I would also give a lot to get the world back and visit it at least once more. Of course I never will. And this is really fucking scary. Im 17 now, and only now some things I know slowly cease to exist, only now I realize I will never get them back. Im so fucking scared of something so dear becoming suddenly gone forever. Or lost somewhere out there. All the games I played. All the drawings I drew. All the music I listened and listen to. I hope noone will be angry at me for downloading this mix. I swear I will keep it very safe as it was my very first Minecraft world I created. Writing this made me a bit more happy about it all. Have fun sitting there struck by nostalgia, friends.

The music in Minecraft always makes me wanna cry for some reason... I legit have to mute it or i'll get sad while breeding cows or something. Minecraft gets pushed aside and mocked as a "game for babies", but it's so clear that a ton of effort was put into it, most notably the music. It isn't like Sonic games where the music is vital to the experience. Just a couple of nostalgic things to remember ;): its 2013 and you come home from school excited to watch some skydoesminecraft, your parents walk by so you quickly have to turn down the volume as he swears it's 2011, you just finished watching your favourite Minecraft youtuber build something more than amazing, and you're inspired. You beg and beg your parents for Minecraft and after enough begging they finally let you. You go on, before anything, you do creative. Your first world has an amazing ravine in it, but you're shit at building. You build your house out of wood, and for lighting you go glow stone, building it with a massive fucking smile on you're face. This is what you wanted. You are calm listening to the music. You feel at one with the game, serenity flowing throughout your veins. That was my first experience. What's yours. You excitedly get home from school ready to play minecraft, you wait for your parent to type in the password. You open minecraft and start a new survival mode and put it in peaceful, then after uou have built your oak wood block house (that you went into creative to build), you decide to go hardcore, so you put it on easy mode, only to close the game immediately after you see an enderman. You instead go to youtube to see DanTDMs latest mod review in his iron lab with Dr Trayourus and his skeleton dog Grimm, you watch multiple of minecraft lets players, such as DanTDM, yogcasts, JeromeASf with his best friend BajanCanadian, until your mum screams at you to got to bed since it is 8pm. Like if you felt nostalgia.

I kept playing minecraft even when my friends stopped playing. around 4 years passed, and now that minecraft is popular again, i logged on five months ago to the server we used to play all the time to see that one of them was online. i stopped talking to this person a while back, but i was pleasantly surprised so i called them up and we played together for the first time in years (they were terrible at pvp, unsurprisingly). come to present, after a lot of bad shit happened to me and they helped me through it in our long calls while playing the game, they're now my best friend and we actually met irl for the first time four months ago :D they live really close by, to my surprise. we're going to the same school next year. so minecraft has a lot of significance in my life and as pathetic as it sounds, i don't know where i'd be without the game. that server also has a lot of significance, though it's practically dead compared to four years ago. i hope minecraft thrives for many years to come, and i think it will :)

the only bad thing I remember from Minecraft is loosing all my diamonds to lava. the only bad thing i remember from Minecraft is getting my wolf killed. the only bad thing i remember from Minecraft is accidentally making an item and wasting my stuff on it instead of what i wanted. the only TERRIBLE thing i remember from Minecraft is honestly, nothing. minecraft has always been in my life, i remember making worlds with my cousins and having no idea what i was doing because i was too young to actually play survival mode. i remember watching dantdm videos of minecraft mods, of dr trayaurus and his dog in the lab. i remember the video when he went to the cookie dimension, i remember my mom telling me to stop watching minecraft videos but not listening, i remember when i got killed by an enderman, i remember when i always pushed my cousin into the lava while he got the diamonds, then putting down water and stealing his items. but minecraft just isn't the same. it doesn't give me that bubbly feeling anymore, i liked when Notch (Markus Alexej Persson) owned minecraft, and when everything actually FELT bubbly, like an easter morning, the sun shining bright through the window and you, still in a blanket, OR its nightime, family is over, you are in the basement with your cousins with a blanket wrapped around all of you playing the multi-player version. the only thing that actually stayed the same was the beautiful music but, all i am trying to say is, i miss you, minecraft. - Isabelle

i used to listen to this playlist 2 years ago. not that long, but it feels like it now. i used it to get my work done. i have problems focusing and this playlist helped a lot. i also really like minecraft, so this was nice to listen to. two years later, here i am now. i still think about this playlist. even though it’s just minecraft songs, something about its different. ive tried plenty of youtube playlists before, but nothing is quite the same as this one. two years ago. it doesn’t seem like too long but it felt like it was decades ago. thank you, feardog. i know you won’t ever see this, but, thank you. this playlist will always remind me of a time when things were better.

Our first emerald, When we thought gold was rare and useful (before 1.16) When we didn't know how to blow up a tnt, When we chopped off our first tree, When we thought emeralds were just a beautiful green stone, When we didn't know how to breed villagers, When we thought we were obliged to have an apple to friend a horse, When we didn't care about minecraft music, When we thought we could get bitten by a zombie and turn into one of them, When we discovered creepers weren't really friendly and helping build your house, Our first argue with friends on who stole my diamonds! Or who killed my dog! When we mined with a diamond pickaxe for the first time, When we entered the nether for the first time, killed ghasts, When we thought zombie pigmans weren't friendly so we hit one of them, and regretted a second later. When we killed our first Dragon, Came back in the end cuz you were bored but found another ender Dragon and you were so scared you jumped in the void with all your stuff, Spawned somewhere else than your house, Wondered «why though?» And u remembered you had destroyed your bed because you wanted to see if you could make a base in the mine. When u got killed by yourself while getting tired in the nether, placed a bed and right clicked it... When you looked up «redstone» on KZbin and found THAT one youtuber ;) who was a pro. Our first game. Minecraft. Seems nothing, but actually, we learned things about it. Who knew «obsidians», «lapis lazuli»? I mean, we were young. Dumb. But cool kids. Play minecraft. I wrote this comment in 12 minutes while listening to the music. It's so relaxing. You could respond to my comment and tell me about your story. mynameswithnumbers um well- this is gonna be a mouth full- Well I first knew about Minecraft when I saw my cousin playing it on her brother’s ipas, I remember her world was so cool and I really wanted to play! Eventually she told me the name, and my dad helped me and my sister download it on our iPads. Now I remember thst i only had creative worlds, but me and my sister’s first survival world was the best.. we called it “[my name]&[my sister’s name]#4” because we named and still name our worlds like that. It was in a snow biome.. we built a house right next to a ravine, I made a staircase so we could get out, and just jump into the water that was down to go in the mines. It was a peaceful survival world. We found a bunch of diamonds eventually. I was 9-10-11 at the time.. I miss that world tbh.. my cousin joined us eventually and made her own house nearby. And here’s the best part..... the houses were made out of dirt.. Now for the people who changed my Minecraft experience. My friend from school told me about this app.. “blockman for Minecraft multiplayer”. Oh boy how excited I was when I joined someone else’s world.... I once joined a random friend who was on someone else’s world, it was called “angel vs demons rp” role play. The best thing in my life till today.. I put my angel skin on and roleplayed with them. It was basically a survival world where people who are demons live in the nether, and angels in the over world. The owner of the world.. she was the best, her world was so popular! Her and another friend of ours became best friends and rped all the time, I remember it was the longest times I stayed up for where 10-11pm.. pft- I stay till 5 am now a days. But moving on- they changed my life, and introduced me into the world of rp! Soon the rp world’s name changed to “angels AND demons rp” because I brought rp peace between angels and demons (that’s what i remember lmao-), but soon after, one of my friends couldn’t update Minecraft because it caused money, which meant he couldn’t join the rp world.. we agreed before thst to only join if all of us are online. So we couldn’t rp till he got his dad to agree to update it. This was early 2019, and soon.. we haven’t rped in months.. blockman got taken down and we all deleted it.. I told my friend to add me in fb but the didn’t, our other fiend.. I’m subscribed to his channel, and tried commenting allot of times to make him know its me.. I haven’t been in contact with them in forever and I will never forget how they changed my life- I know it’s a silly way, but it did effect me. Only now(a couple of months ago), me and my sister, after years of playing Minecraft, are into the normal mode survival Minecraft gameplay. It’s better than I thought- even tho I’m a big wuss to go in caves or fight mobs- heh- this was long-
