I foresee that would be a future linkway connecting the station and the new proposed building or shopping mall which in turn will connect LRT Ampang Park.

I thought B1 is concourse level

B1 is currently the main concourse level. B2 concourse level is where the future connection between MRT and LRT Ampang Park stations as far as I am aware.

But why Ampang Park is a connecting station

Ampang Park MRT Station is a connecting station because currently you need to exit paid area and enter a different paid area of the Ampang Park LRT Station. Once MRT station B2 level connection is in use in future, exiting from one paid area and re-enter to another paid area is not necessary. Then Ampang Park will become an interchange station.
