Yes you can. But I'll suggest you to stay in Joshimath. Have a word with your hotel owner and ask around. It will easier to find a guide in joshimath.

there are no homestays on the trail. This is a proper trek. you'll have to take your tents from the last village. forest permissions can be arranged by your guide for pretty nominal cost

Can we avail one way ropeway ticket from Auli to Joshimath? Question No 2.Can you provide me any contact no of trek guide for KURARI PASS & PHANGATULA PEAK TREK? Question No 3. 1. See ropeway sirf kuchh distance k liye hi hota hai aise nahi ki pura distance apna joshimath se auli tk ka aise ho jayega... You can buy for one way journey though. 2. Rakesh [phone]. Auli k ander jitne bhi hotels hain sabke rates zyada hain... Majority tourists auli k just bahar stay karte hain coz rates kam hain.. I'll suggest you use any website for booking it. Hum to saste se lodge mein ruke the joshimath mein

Yes, you need to take permission from forest ranger office if you are going on your own. The easy option is to ask your guide to arrange it for you. The charges are pretty nominal.

@@Tushar_negi you can get the permission instantly but don't do it on your own. The route is confusing at a few spots in the jungle. Also if you are trekking in snow the trail near the pass is a bit tricky and you will need a guide for it.

The easy way to do is to ask your hotel owner at the base village. I have the number of my guide. In your case, I don't think I'm the right person to answer this question. I'll suggest you talk to some solo female travellers about their trekking experiences and how they arrange a guide on treks.
