how is it to load a heavy bike up on the roof with this rack, my bike is 55pounds, would that just mean an accident waiting to happen or anyone tried this solo?

I have this rack , but there’s alot of noise when the rack is closed with no bike, and even more noise and rattling when carrying my bike, not to mention there’s not much leverage you can make to tighten the bike securely, specially my wife, can not reach both arms a the same time to secure them firmly!! Any recommendations? It seems like the piston ratchet could use more teeth between the click’s to tighten wheels.

Is your rack roof mounted? All I can think of is using bungee cords and perhaps some kind of fitted neoprene cover.

What’s the length of the SR when assembled?

The base of the rack is 154 cm long, but the tops of the arms may extend a bit past that when fully opened. This will hold bikes with wheelbases up to 53" comfortably.

So guessing it doesn’t fit onto a square shaped bar?

Hello. Although the under bar plate does not have a specific SquareBar shape, it is compatible with SquareBars, RoundBars, and most factory crossbars. Thanks!

As usual great demo but please never advertise that cable locks offer great security. They don't.

Hello. Most integrated cable locks are less effective than heavier chains and u-locks, however, sometimes the best security is a method that's readily available and easy to use. Thanks!
