Could be a neck knife, belt knife or pocket fixed blade. The choice is yours, but this budget fixie with the forward ring is small, but holds very securely in multiple positions! Check it out!
Enjoy, Like & Suscribe! Thanks!

Hippocampus means seahorse( greek hippocampos-the part of he brain you've talked about, is named also after the seahorse). It's all about the knife's form. You can tell by looking at the knife when kept with the tip up 😉

Dang . This looks like it would do well on one of the job sites for sure , or the kitchen . Absolutely .

Looked for my first fixie and this "ring-fingered kiridashi-meets-cleaver" oddball was what quickly grabbed my attention. Your video helped to convince me. I purchased it and I love it. I only need to switch to a belt loop that allows scout carry because carrying it tip down is quite uncomfortable and awkward for me.

It would be a wicked little defense blade if the top beveled edge was sharpened. Particularly during close quarters and grappling type situations in a car of confined spaces, like the Clinch Pick type knives.

You might be able to put some sort of rudimentary edge on the top, but not sure....

I have this one. I filled that last cut out with a leather piece which also goes through the hole for the lanyard..gotta be creative but they should have it made wider. Nice review 👍🏻👍🏻

Looks like it would be good for scraping window stickers off the windshield or slicing cherry tomatoes 😉

You need to handle and practice with this one daily if you want to use this as a defensive weapon ... too many shapes in the handle for the hand to adapt to in an emergency. Your hand size will also be a factor and although very sharp, the blade shape may be too short and broad for penetration. It's probably a good utility knife for scraping, scoring and some detail work. The D2 blade on mine developed stains, but no rust and my "Hippo" came with black scales. Last year, they added jade scales and I see from your review, it now comes with white scales. "White" may just be the new "Black"

@@OGBladeReviews ... Only carried it a few months through the jungles of Manhattan without seeing combat and missed the ergonomics and the fidget-ability of a 5th pocket folder. People must like the "Hippo" for it to get a new scale color.

That angle gives alot of edge for such a stout ass size.

Wondering if the odd rear finger grove is for use without the finger loop? Why would you want to? I don’t know. Seems that would orientate the point up and edge forward… kiridashi maybe? Anyway thanks for sharing. Maybe you can do a comparison to DP Wharring, Claw or Claw XLRT(the one I am eyeing, wink wink nod nod) when you get one!
