U can check rpm with a volt meter by using it in the hz setting. Should be about 62 hz no load. Doesn’t matter that if has a avr that just keeps your voltage stable.

She Don't need a rebuild from what I can see. seems to run nice now that I let her burn up all that diesel from the exhaust.

I Parted her out after i got the engine running great LOL! She cleaned herself out nice, just took a little running after all the repairs the exhaust was just full of oil/diesel so 40min of running she started up and run great after with normal smoke. I kinda wish i would have saved her LOL! I still have the empty shell to make another Gen set. But i have plans to install a much smaller diesel engine (6HP) And 4Kw Gen head.

Hi, I have a Yamaha labeled 6500s and I'm trying to locate the belt for the water pump, but I'm having a hard time locating the part number and or the belt itself. Would you know what type of belt or suggest a suitable replacement? Great videos by the way!

I thought these were direct drive. Do you know the rpm of the engine at load. Is it 1800 or 3600. The shot you showed looked like a 2-1 pulley.

You called the generator a tractor, near the end, lol That would probably be a sweet tractor engine. I'm surprised it has a hundred 110v fan, you would think it woukd be 12 volts

Hey Don’t you just like when someone (Not Mechanically Inclined )that doesn’t know what their doing attempt to repair something way out of their league. Did you get it cheap. How did you make out.

I got it for pretty cheap, I ended up selling the generator head , then engine and actually made a decent amount, so basically I still have the case from it and have plans to actually make a solar generator/ hybrid system out of it will a small diesel engine (6hp) and PMG generator to charge probably a 300AH battery bank.

Nice! Installing a small turbo should add a little more power and fuel economy when the generator is operating with a good size power load on it.

what in the hell did the guy who owned this do? someone so unmechanical tearing apart a generator, and ruining everything he touched. Like the injector, the fork, the motor holddown bolts. He had to have beat on the injector pump with a hammer, and how did he break the pin off on the injector? what a goob and leave out parts?

service manuals are online all over the place for the engine. I find it's more fun to not use one lol!!! I work on the part diagrams mostly on anything I work on. Yamaha runs the Kubota motor in some of there generators.
