Just bought the same unit and options on Friday. Waiting on a grapple to deliver to shop/dealer to get MSNs recorded and it will deliver next week. Can’t wait, it will get a lot of use on some property we purchased and moved to about 7 months ago. If it’s like the commercial zero turn I bought...I’ll show my wife how to use it and I’ll never see the Kubota agin. Funny she was never that interested in running the self propelled walk behind Snapper for the last 28 years...but the zero turn and this tractor has her wanting to use both.

Good choice. I had a Kubota L2500 for twenty years and never had any trouble, worked hard and started every time. I traded it because it didn't have an FEL. Last December I got a MX5800 and I just turned the 50 hour mark. Its not silly taking care of your tractor, I have a can of Kubota orange spray paint and a can of Land Pride gloss black paint for touch-up. Nice video and good luck.

"Never had a vehicle payment, but got a tractor payment"... yup Subbed 👍 Also totally agree on the paint, my b2650 cab is a glorified wheelbarrow, maybe 20 hours of brush hogging, 175 total hours, stored indoors, and the hood is completely scratched to s***. Seriously considering trading it in to get an l2501, I've run one, I like it a lot better. The l2501 feels much more like a real "tractor". You made the right decision.

the l2501 is the best tractor made, for the money the most bang for the buck and the size ability and overall ability is hard to believe bh 77 backhoe a bit on the light size but well matched and a good quality 60 month zero down no interest and good discounts off list ag tires can be widened and up to three cast wheel weights each side can be added no floor mats is sad but I repaint my floor boards often and wax and keep tractors in doors
@garrytalley80094 жыл бұрын
I was hoping for a review based on how it works and if it was doing good. All I heard were some selling talking points about John Deere's. BTW the Kubota is better than the John Deere. John Deere's are over rated and cut corners next to Kubota. I have the same tractor. Perhaps the hydrostatic is a bit noisy but it works well and switching directions is quick. The single pedal is far better than a side by side forward backward pedals. Picture hitting the wrong one by mistake where you can't afford to go an inch in the wrong direction. Kubota also has 3 gear ranges where many other tractors only have high and low, like John Deere. Be glad you bought what you did it's a good tractor. One in buying a tractor should by one that can be serviced nearby, is a reputable company and can easily buy parts for it. There are several brands that would fit that bill but I chose between a John Deere and a Kubota and Kubota wins hands down. I don't know why anyone is so up on floor mats. It's a tractor, it will get scuffs and scratches if you use it for what a tractor is made for. Looking forward to seeing a video with you using your tractor.
@dailejc4 жыл бұрын
Garry Talley yep right on, I actually have a couple other videos of it in use - and while I hear ya on scuffs and scratches, if I can prevent em I will, if nothing else, keeps it from rusting. Also perhaps it being the most expensive and first new ‘vehicle’ I’ve ever owned has something to do with it as well :)

I still have a Kubota GF1800 mower with the Tredle Pedal, so I’m always comparing it verses the two pedal controls. Two pedals still my preference! Have used the Backhoe a fair bit, wish it was stronger, but it is a small machine, and I have been used to using larger ones. Have spread a dozen or so loads of crushed stone, and some gravel as well. I don’t use it a whole lot, often holding up logs for blocking into firewood 🪵. I have some pretty steep hills on my farm. My local Kabota dealer doesn't even sell this tractor because they say it doesnt have enough power to bush hog up the steep inclines. Have u experienced this?
@dailejc4 жыл бұрын
Andrew Burress well, I’d say I have steep hills too, but I think it handles em fine - I run a 6ft finish mower which I’m gonna take a stab and say is harder on the tractor than a bush hog (and technically is a foot bigger that what’s recommended for the L). Yeah it whines up the hills and I may slow down some but it’s not really a problem, I think the extra displacement gives enough torque to handle hills fine. That said I don’t have anything to compare to, so I can’t say what more HP would feel like I just know I don’t need to go any faster than I do already.

Thanks for the review man. I'm in a similar spot, looking to get a tractor. A few Kubota dealers around here, thinking of getting an L2501 as well, seems like a good sized tractor. How do you find it for getting around the property? I was also thinking about getting a B series, but I feel like the L2501 has a bit more power and extra weight.
@dailejc5 жыл бұрын
Thanks, appreciate it - yeah, I worried at first the L would be too big, but the way they price them, just seems like you get a lot more tractor with the L over the B. No issues getting around honestly, I have to be careful on some of the slopes but that would be true of most tractors (actually putting an inclinometer on tomorrow just for fun ) I mess around in 2wd and see how far I can push it, gotten myself stuck a few times, but put it in 4wd and it walks out every time. The only thing better about a B I can think of is it wouldn’t take up as much space in the garage :)

I see you have a finish mower in the back ground first question is it a 6 foot and next question how does the tractor handle it if it is a 6 foot?
@dailejc2 жыл бұрын
Yep, 6 footer and it handles it just fine - only problem I’ve had with the mower is if I let the grass get too high (above 6-8 inches) it can’t eject it fast enough and the tractor will spin the belts. More my problem than the mowers for letting it get too tall. Welded some extra height on the wheels to handle that. No issues with power even though it’s only rated for 5ft mower.

Awesome tractor! I absolutely love mine. Picked the right winter to buy one up here in Wisconsin. We got blasted with snow, then blasted again, then it really started to snow! Ran great in -17 weather with a wind chill of -45. Now everything's melting away and the frost is slowly coming out of the ground, and will hopefully firm back up. The weight would probably bury me like I was in quick sand until it does. I also love how they just sip fuel. Thought my gauge was broken for the first 10hrs. Lol. You got a great dealer! I added those slack adjusters for the lower arms. I don't have the quick hitch yet. I'm thinking I'll need a nice box blade for my driveway. 1st I'll try my big rear blade with the offset and tilt, but I think for the grading I'm thinking either box blade or a rear grader attachment. I ordered the right fender handle. They should be included. Thanks for the video.
@dailejc5 жыл бұрын
Ironheadbiker thanks! I hear ya, you get it worse than me I’m sure, we had a good 20”er this winter which was fun to clear. That cold though, pretty sweet when the Bota fires right up! I love my box blade, I’m finding it takes both on my drive - for my read blade though I added a skid on either side, just a piece of 1/4” bent that lets the edge ride about 1/2 off the ground in float. Perfect for clearing slow without eating up gravel, and I find it easy to spread new gravel with it as well, dump a bucket in front, drive over it and just leave the blade in float and it spreads it even. Quick hitch is pretty sweet i have to say, I converted my grader blade already and will soon convert my discs and mower, saves a lot of time. And great idea on the fender handle, I need to do the same! Thanks for watchin and commenting, have fun out there!

what do you mean you need weight on the back to pick things up with the loader? Can it not lift and drive around with the full 1200 pound capacity without weight on the back?
@dailejc3 жыл бұрын
Sure, you can pick it up, but tractors (the ones I’m familiar with) aren’t weighted like a full time loader is to compensate. Trying to drive a tractor around with 1200 lbs stuck out 10 foot or so from center of mass of the tractor, and it’s going to be super tippy. Even with weighted tires. All about leverage. You need weight on the other end to compensate. Also, look at the axles of a tractor - rear is way bigger. You load up the front axle too much and I think you’re asking for trouble.

Adam Malone So what I found where I live, is they advertise a basic model - gear drive, pin on bucket, and R1 tires. Then they upsell. 0% financing never happens, they work the interest into the vehicle price so you think your paying 0% financing. The loan companies get their money no matter what!
@dailejc4 жыл бұрын
Leatt46 I mean yeah, there’s a cost baked into 0 APR for sure, but it’s still 0 APR. Best would be save up the money and pay cash, but it’d have taken me 5 or more years to do that. That would be time without the use of the tractor (can look at that as cost - having to hire/rent for all the road work and things a tractor is used for, which ain’t cheap), and not counting inflation in the cost of the tractor over that 5 years. There is a cost associated with that too. So yep, agree there is markup for 0% but I still say it’s worth it to be able to have the tractor now vs later :)

0% financing never happens?... Well I asked for the cash price and they gave me one and then they offered 60 months 0% and they just divided the sales price by 60, so...

@@josemsolis7167 I've been pricing Kubota L series tractors at dealers all over the place. I'm planning on buying cash but I've been asking for cash price and finance price with each quote. It varies on the models but the cash price is always $500 - $1400 cheaper. On top of that when you finance you get charged a $250 or more "doc fee". On top of that if you finance you have to buy KTAC insurance through Kubota which costs about $20/month which comes out to $1680 for 84 months or $1200 for 60 months. At a minimum you're looking at an extra $2000 added to the price if you finance for 60 months with the potential for up to $3300 more added to the price depending on which L series you buy and how long you finance so the devil is in the details. For that reason the answer is 0% financing never happens. That's why I'm paying cash and I'm considering an L2501 or one of the bigger standard L's.
