I have a L245DT and I tore down the loader, after breaking one of the mount bolts, and painted each component. P.S. The Valspar tractor paint went pink on me too. Anyway, unless they made a larger loader an exact scaled up version then the L245DT runs the same loader. It is labeled L1730 and has a single control stick on the valve with a float function.

@@mikesrandomvideos kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmfLqqWJg9Ojo7M p.s. That bit you are pointing to looks more like a differential lock. I think if you step on it you will notice that both back wheels turn together and you will have difficulty steering but it will get you out of a slippery mud patch. The 245DT has a diff lock there.

You can put a steering box from the 245 onto the l295 i been researching cause i bought a 1980 l295

I've got a L295DT, 1985. It's a good tractor. Lately, I have a leak at the bottom of the cannister that holds the hydraulic oil filter cartridge. I cannot tighten the bolts any more than they already are. I'm wondering how to check the level of my hydraulic fluid (on this model, it is together in the same case as the transmission fluid). I have an old manual that says it has a hydraulic fluid "level plug" on the left side (opposite side from filter cannister), but I don't see it. The cap doesn't have a stick on it. How can I see how much hydraulic fluid I've got in there?

nice video. looking at buying at L245DT. Seller states front bearing issue?? Haven't worked on one of these before, wondering if that's a big or expensive job for a DIYer?
@mikesrandomvideos9 ай бұрын
see if the front pump flex shaft is rubbing on the radiator support if so. easy fix. just get some shock bushings and replace the bushings that hold up the radiator support. dont know of a front bearing only that. happens all the time on these L tractors.
@brettpettinger92009 ай бұрын
@@mikesrandomvideosWhat in the world is a front pump flex shaft? Sounds like a Chris Farley line asking to check the specs on the rotogirter. The posed question was not specific but a front wheel bearing is likely. I can't say as to the cost of the wheel bearing but it should be a fairly easy fix.

I have a 1980 L285 and can't find where to check and fill the hydraulic fluid. Help!
@mikesrandomvideos4 ай бұрын
THere is a video from a guy who has a l245 who does an transmission oil change. and he does shows how to check it. I cant remember but there is a set screw in the side of the case and you fill until it comes out there. Tractor fluid or Hydraulic oil from what I understand is OK. I used tractor fluid. Changed it and it was super sludgy. held a lot of fluid too like over 5 gallons. Took a couple days to drain it.

I bought a L245dt about 1 year ago and have had to replace the steering gearbox twice already. I am very conscience to only steer when the tractor is moving but the steering gearbox seems to be a weak link. I was told that the loader might be too heavy. Anyway, I thought that I might try and install some type of power steering. If anyone has any tips please let me know. Thanks

thanks I did a mini restoration and put videos up on that. rebuilt the motor. Ran it out of oil otherwise it would have lasted forever. That is one of my guys did that.

is the pto still running if it engage and your depresse the clutch pedal all the way down? i think they have a single disk dry clutch im wondering if it could be a good snow blower or not
@mikesrandomvideos7 жыл бұрын
rear pto is activated with clutch. there is one on the front of the engine that runs the loader. I think one for the front woud run a snow blower. the blower would need a shut off. check to see if the blower is available for the tractor just so you know.
@mcleod227 жыл бұрын
thanks for the reply, tractor data stated that is was a live pto and in the shop manual i see a dry clutch, so i was a bit confused, there is one cheap for sale in my city and i was thinking about a front reversible snow bucket and rear snow blower but without 2 stage clutch it would be a pain in the ass !

@mikesrandomvideos2 жыл бұрын
@@bbrut3332 yea the cylinder kits are available at places like Burnell Hydraulics and Orings and things. you just take the Rod ir piston with you and they will match up what you have. cost about 50 to 70 each for the parts. Total no brainer to install them. Guys charge from 250 to 500 each to rebuild them on the bench. Best to DIY.

Where is the safety starter switch located?
@mikesrandomvideos5 жыл бұрын
Look up my l295 cold start video. I show right where it is.
@comanchetexas5 жыл бұрын
@@mikesrandomvideos Thank you for your prompt reply. I really didn't ask the correct question. I have a L295DT that looks just like yours. You are the most knowledgeable person that I have found on KZbin. My electrical schematic shows a safety switch between the starter switch that you show in your video and the starter. When I engage the starter switch, all I get is one click. No more. If I disconnect the battery and try the start again, it will click one time again. Would you object to sending me your email so that I can ask you some questions about my problem?
